The new AMERICAN Quran: a dangerous trick A new Quran is being distributed in Kuwait, titled "The True Furqan". It is being described as the ayats of the Shaytan and Al-Furqan weekly magazine has found out that the two American printing companies;'Omega 2001' and 'Wine Press' are involved in the publishing of 'The True Furqan', a book which has also been titled 'The 21st Century Quran'! It is over 366 pages and is in both the Arabic and English languages…it is being distributed to our children in Kuwait in the private English schools! The book contains 77 Surats, which include Al-Fatiha, Al-Jana and Al-Injil. Instead of Bismillah, each Surat begins with a longer vesion of this incorporating the Christian belief of the three spirits. And this so called Quran opposes many Islamic beliefs. in one of its ayats it describes having more than one wife as fornication, divorce being non-permissable and it uses a new system for the sharing out of the will, opposing the current one. It states that Jihad is HARAAM. This book even goes as far as attacking Allah, Subhanahu wa Tahala! All this is poisoning our children at approx. $3.

Quran and the Muslim Fanaticism

The debate on a ‘bunch of fundamentalist militants,’ who are accused of hijacking the peaceful teachings of Islam’ has fascinated many people of almost all religious denominations. Many among us, who have never bothered much to learn anything about Islam, are easily carried away by statements, like the one quoted above, and nod their heads in dismay for what they have been led to believe are the acts of a bunch of Islamic fanatics. For those of us, who know what has been inspiring the so-called Muslim fundamentalists to engage themselves in terrorism and destruction, the stated argument falls flat on its face. We would need to dig deeper to unearth the real truth, which have been eluding many of us for a long time.
Islam never received so much attention and scrutiny before as it does today from people of almost all walks of life, not because its followers have done something great for the good of mankind, but on account of the attacks some of its adherents launched on the United States of America on September 11 of 2001. It was the day that has changed the thinking of the world; it was the day that has presented the world with a challenge that humanity has never faced before in its long history. September 11 would continue to dominate our minds for a long, long time.
But why, we need to ask ourselves, the 19 people mostly of Saudi Arabian origin sacrificed their own lives for the purpose of killing thousands of innocent people on that fateful day? Why Osama bin Laden conspired, and had his followers carry out, among others, an attack on the USS Colt that precipitated the American missile strike on his den in the hills of Afghanistan ?
Osama’s real brawl with the United States began with its attempt to liberate Kuwait from the clutches of now-deposed Saddam Hussain of Iraq . Driven by its own global interests, and also asked for help by most Muslim countries of the Middle East, the United States massed some of its forces on the soil of Saudi Arabia so that they could launch their campaigns against the Iraqi forces, which were then in Kuwait. Stationing its forces on the holy land of God was the gravest crime the Americans have ever committed after their country came into being over two hundred and twenty-five years ago. And for this crime, the American needed to be punished in all possible atrocious manners.
Why stationing American forces in Saudi Arabia , and that, too, for liberating a Muslim country from its occupying forces should be a cause for Osama’s wrath? The answer to this question lies in the teachings of the Quran, for it says:
“O ye who believe! Truly the Pagans are unclean; so let them not after this year of theirs approach the Sacred Mosque, and if ye fear poverty, soon will Allah enrich you, if He wills, out of His bounty, for Allah is All-Knowing, All-Wise (9:28).
It is clear from the above verse that the Prophet Muhammad had barred only the Pagans from ‘approaching the Sacred Mosque’ of Mecca , as they, in his opinion, were unclean, but he left the Zoroastrians, Buddhists, Jews and the Christians out of the prohibition. But the rulers of Saudi Arabia took the Quranic stipulation a step further, with the result that a visit to the Sacred Mosque of Mecca even by the followers of Judaism and Christianity is a complete taboo today; this despite the fact that, like the Muslims, they are also Ahlul Kitab—the recipients of the Holy Books; whose foods are halal (permissible) for the Muslims, and whose women Muslim men can marry without having to convert them to their (men’s) own faith (Quran; verse 5:6).
Osama, being a devout Muslim, and well versed with the contents of the Quran, knew very well what it says about the Christians, yet he chose to follow the footsteps of his country’s rulers. Accordingly, he, like many other Muslims, concluded that the Christianity-dominated country of America has violated the sacredness of his country by stationing its forces on its soil, and that if America did not remove its forces from his country immediately, it would mean that the Americans intended to continue profaning its holy land by continuously being present thereon.
His conviction forced him to ask the Americans to leave Saudi Arabia forthwith. America ignored his call, as it had to have some of its forces stationed somewhere in the Middle East in order to secure its own national interests. This infuriated Osama, and he attacked the American warship and its other oversees interests for the purpose of dragging America into a conflict with him and his followers. After America retaliated against him by launching missiles at his hideout in Afghanistan , he replied by killing thousands of its innocent people on September 11, 2001.
What had made Osama to embark upon his course were the Quranic verses, like the one quoted above. Had there been no commandment in the Quran to bar the Pagans from approaching the Sacred Mosque of Mecca, Osama would have had no other way to use the Islamic Scripture to further his own agenda, thereby sparing the Americans the pains he has so grotesquely inflicted on them to preserve his country’s perceived sanctity.
It is true that all Muslims are not terrorists, and that the number of terrorists among them is very small. But highlighting on this two facts are not good enough for exonerating the Muslims from many of the despicable acts their brethren have already committed, or are likely to commit in future. An elucidation may be in order to drive my point home.
In 1971, over 75 millions of Bengalees (of Bangladesh ) were afraid to oppose a government they knew was not their own. A rational analysis of their situation would prove that the Bengalees were not afraid of the government per se; they were afraid of the power it wielded through 91,000 of its armed forces. And the armed forces struck fear in the people’s minds, not so much due to their number, but because of the deadly weapons with which they were equipped.
So, it can be logically argued that a ‘bunch of people’ can become a devastating force, if it is armed with deadly weapons. And when a bunch of people become deadly, nothing can prevent it from playing the role of the majority, unless the majority itself starts exerting its own collective power over the small bands of people.
But how a majority is supposed to prevail upon an armed bunch of terrorists? In my opinion, it can be done in two ways: either the majority cajoles the terrorists into laying down their weapons, or it takes up its own arms and defeats them in a show of force.
Maintaining silence by the majority over the perpetuation of a crime by an individual or a group of individuals, or the lack of alacrity on its part to prevent a crime from taking place should be a good ground to believe that the majority not only accepts the legitimacy of the crime, it also encourages its commission. Our modern societies should never condone such conducts of the majority; rather, they must subject it, along with the ‘bunches of people,’ to an exemplary punishment that would not only prevent them from committing further crimes in future, it would also discourage the would-be criminals from becoming their followers.
This is the only way that is likely to make our world safe; failing to do it would expose our lives and properties to the wraths of the terrorists. Given the chance, they would strike at us mercilessly. In our death and destruction lies their happiness; and this is something that we should never let them have at any cost.
The deadly weapon that the Muslim terrorists carry is the Quran. It tells them, and commands them, among others, to carry out the following actions against the Pagans, the Jews and the Christians:
1. “Let not the believers take for friends or helpers Unbelievers rather than believers: if any do that, in nothing will there be help from Allah.” (3:28).
2. “Then fight in Allah’s cause – Thou art held responsible only for thyself – and rouse the believers. It may be that Allah will restrain the fury of the Unbelievers; for Allah is the strongest in might and in punishment” (4:84).
3. “And never will Allah grant to the unbelievers a way (to triumphs) over the believers” (4:141).
4. “When in their insolence they {Jews} transgressed (all) prohibitions, We said to them: “Be ye apes, despised and rejected” (7:166).
5. “Against them make ready your strength to the utmost of your power, including steeds of war, to strike terror into (the hearts of) the enemies, of Allah and your enemies, and others besides, whom ye may not know, but whom Allah doth know. Whatever ye shall spend in the cause of Allah, shall be repaid unto you, and ye shall not be treated unjustly (8:60).
6. “But when the forbidden months are past, then fight and slay the Pagans wherever ye find them, and seize them, beleaguer them, and lie in wait for them in every stratagem” (9:5).
7. “Fight them, and Allah will punish them by your hands, cover them with shame, help you (to victory) over them, heal the breasts of Believers” (9:14).
8. “O ye who believe! Take not for protectors your fathers and your brothers, if they love infidelity above Faith: if any of you do so, they do wrong” (9:23).
9. “Fight those who do not believe in God and the last day… and fight People of the Book, (Christian and Jews) who do not accept the religion of truth (Islam) until they pay tribute (Ziziya tax) by hand, being inferior” (9:29).
When faced with the above Quranic verses, which clearly teach hatred and violence to the followers of Islam, Muslim Apologists downplay their implications by asserting that the verses “picked out of context, historic or textual …” from the Quran do not represent the true spirit of Islam, and that the exclusion of those passages, which espouse the “themes of kindness, forgiveness, sanctity of human life, and unconditional respect for other religions” should not be avoided in order to understand the humane side of this religion. (Dr. S. Amjad Hussain, ibid, top of this article).
It is a fair statement and I subscribe to it. I also agree that many verses of the Quran relate to those events, which had taken place in the life of the Prophet Muhammad. He was upset with the Jews, so he accused them of being the descendants of simian ancestors. The Pagans opposed him in the propagation of his faith, so he cursed them, and when it failed to have its desired effect, he asked his followers to beleaguer them, bind them and to kill them, when and wherever they could lay their hands on them.
These are the historical facts. These, however, do not apply to the present time, nor are they supposed to guide the Muslims in their relations with Pagans, Jews and the Christians of the 21st century.
The matter being as such, one needs to ask the Muslims Apologists as to why these apparently hateful verses should remain in the Quran, when they are not supposed to be applicable in the lives of Muslims today. They must also explain as to what lessons the readers of the Quran are supposed to derive from many of its apparently violent passages. If the instructions to murder, which are embedded in many verses of the Quran, are not intended for the present-day Muslims, then why not remove these verses from the Quran, so that it can really be a book from which Muslims could learn nothing, but the lessons of love, kindness, forgiveness and unconditional respects for other religions.
Are Muslims willing, and prepared, to turn the Quran into a real “Holy Book,” thereby ensuring the survival of mankind on earth in peace and harmony?

Assagfirulaah! man why is this happening in the world today? the Muslims will increase in number, but faith will decrease dramatically and they will be too attached to the world as a hadith similarly said. as we all see, there are more and more Muslims in the world every year, but more and more of them are not even praying, doing good deeds, or even care about Allaah and Islam.

We must show other religion followers what Islam teaches, it does not teach to speak filthy and curse at Allah’s creation. The very mouth you pray five times with to Allah is the same mouth you are cursing with. This is very bad, you must seek Allah first before you can help others. First be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift. 25Agree with your adversary quickly, while you are on the way with him, lest your adversary deliver you to the judge, the judge hand you over to the officer, and you be thrown into prison.
26Assuredly, I say to you, you will by no means get out of there till you have paid the last penny.

Christians believe he is the Son of God, due to the fact that he was born without a father, and referred to god as father, which is clearly a metaphor!!!! In that case, why don’t Mr Johnny call Adam (pbuh) Son of god too, since he did not have a father or a mother? God made Jesus (pbuh) and Adam (pbuh) to show that He can create humans without father, as well as without both mother and father. Is Islam for All Mankind? Not According to the Quran
Muslims are tirelessly promoting Islam and claim that soon it will dominate the world. In doing so, they go against the Quran. Therefore, it is fair to say they are kafir.
The Quran 10:47 says,
And for every people there is a Messenger.
And 14: 4 says,
And WE have not sent any Messenger except with revelation in the language of his people in order that he might make things clear to them.
If these verses are true, then Islam is not for non-Arabs. The Quran attests that every people have received their divine message in their own language so they can understand it and the Quran is for Arabs.
This concept is so important that it is repeated numerous times.
Q. 16:36.
And WE did raise among every people a Messenger

For each of you WE prescribed a clear spiritual Law and a manifest way in secular matters

It [the Quran] is the truth from your Lord; that you [Muhammad] may warn a people to whom no Warner has come before you, that they may be guided.

These verses leave no room for misunderstanding. Allah is saying that every people has had their own messenger who warned them in their own language, and that Muhammad is for those who have not yet received any guidance, and whose fathers were not warned, i.e. the Arabs. In this way they won’t have any excuse and can’t say, but we did not receive any message.
Q. 6: 156- 157 explain,
Lest you should say, `The Book was sent down only to two peoples before us, (Jews and Christians) and we were indeed unaware of what they read.
Or lest you should say, `Had the Book been sent down to us, we should surely have been better guided than they.’ There has now come to you a clear evidence from your Lord and a guidance and a mercy.
The Quran is clear only to Arabs. Non Arabs don’t understand it. Muslims insist that no translation of the Quran can be accurate. Hence, it can never be clear to non-Arabs. That makes sense because it is not intended for non-Arabs.
Another confirmation that the Quran was sent only for the Arabs is in verses 26: 198-199
And if WE had sent it down to one of the non-Arabs, and he had read it to them, they would never have believed in it.
Just as Arabs have no reason to believe in a book written in a non-Arab language, non-Arabs have no reason to believe in a book written in Arabic. That is why Allah sends a messenger to each people in their own language so they understand. That makes perfect sense.
To make sure there is no misunderstanding the Quran 5:19 reiterates:
O People of the Book, there indeed has come to you Our Messenger, after a break in the series of Messengers, who makes things clear to you lest you should say, `There has come to us no bearer of glad tidings and no Warner.’ So a bearer of glad tidings and a warner has indeed come to you. And ALLAH has power over all things.
According to the Quran all people have received a revelation. The above verse says the Quran is for those who never received a revelation, lest they should say, `There has come to us no bearer of glad tidings and no Warner’.
This matter is clear, but Allah wants it to be clear even to the dumbest of people. He names the exact geographic location for which Muhammad was sent.
Q. 6:92
And this is a Book which WE have revealed, full of blessings, to fulfill that which preceded it, and to enable thee to warn the Mother of towns and those around it. أُمَّ الْقُرَى وَمَنْ حَوْلَهَا
The mother of towns, Umul Qura, is Mecca. This verse says Islam was sent to warn Mecca and its surrounding حَوْلَهَا. How can it be for all mankind?
Now this point is clear even to the dumbest of people, But Allah knows some people are really stupid and he wants to make this matter clear even to them. So he repeats the same thing in verse 42:7
Thus have WE revealed to you the Qur’an in Arabic, that you may warn the Mother of towns, and all those around it.
I heard some Muslims say, around it means everywhere. That is not the definition of around it. When we say Rome and around it, we don’t include Paris, London, Tokyo and New York as Romes surroundings. Those who bring this argument are saying that Allah says something and means something else. In other words he is deceiving people. The Quran repeatedly claims to be a “clear book” (5:15) “easy to understand” (44:58 , 54:22 , 54:32, 54:40) “explained in detail” (6:114), “conveyed clearly”, (5:16, 10:15) and with “no doubt” in it (2:1).
Now, I am sure some Muslims can quote other verses that say Islam is for all mankind. If they do so, they will prove that the above verses are false.

She called me, and I went to her, not knowing what she wanted to do to me. She caught me by the hand and made me stand at the door of the house. I was breathless then, and when my breathing became alright, she took some water and rubbed my face and head with it. Then she took me into the house. There in the house I saw some ansari women who said, “best wishes and Allah’s blessing and a good luck.” then she entrusted me to them and they prepared me (for the marriage). Unexpectedly Allah’s apostle came to me in the forenoon and my mother handed me over to him, and at that time I was a girl of nine years of age.
Sahih bukhari volume 8, book 73, number 151
Narrated ‘Aisha: I used to play with the dolls in the presence of the prophet, and my girl friends also used to play with me. When Allah’s apostle used to enter (my dwelling place) they used to hide themselves, but the prophet would call them to join and play with me. (the playing with the dolls and similar images is forbidden, but it was allowed for ‘Aisha at that time, as she was a little girl, not yet reached the age of puberty.) (Fateh-al-bari page 143, vol.13)
Muhammad’s father in law, Umar bin Khattab, the second rightly guided khalifa, married a child, Umm Kulthum. Umm Khultum was about 9 years old when she was married. Umar was certainly not doing wrong according to Islam, Muhammad once said that even the devil would step aside when he met Umar in an alley. Islam is indeed the true religion for pedophiles, rapists, sadistics etc.

‘A’isha (Allah be pleased with her) reported: Allah’s Apostle (may peace be upon him) married me when I was six years old, and I was admitted to his house when I was nine years old.

Narrated ‘Aisha:
that the Prophet married her when she was six years old and he consummated his marriage when she was nine years old, and then she remained with him for nine years (i.e., till his death).

that the Prophet married her when she was six years old and he consummated his marriage when she was nine years old. Hisham said: I have been informed that ‘Aisha remained with the Prophet for nine years (i.e. till his death).” what you know of the Quran (by heart)’
Sahih Bukhari Volume 7, Book 62, Number 88
Narrated ‘Ursa:
The Prophet wrote the (marriage contract) with ‘Aisha while she was six years old and consummated his marriage with her while she was nine years old and she remained with him for nine years (i.e. till his death).
Some Muslims claim that it was Abu Bakr who approached Muhammad asking him to marry his daughter. This is of course not true and here is the proof.
Sahih Bukhari 7.18
Narrated ‘Ursa:
The Prophet asked Abu Bakr for ‘Aisha’s hand in marriage. Abu Bakr said “But I am your brother.” The Prophet said, “You are my brother in Allah’s religion and His Book, but she (Aisha) is lawful for me to marry.”
Arabs were a primitive lot with little rules to abide. Yet they had some code of ethics that they honored scrupulously. For example, although they fought all the year round, they abstained from hostilities during certain holy months of the year. They also considered Mecca to be a holy city and did not make war against it. A adopted son’s wife was deemed to be a daughter in law and they would not marry her. Also it was customary that close friends made a pact of brotherhood and considered each other as true brothers. The Prophet disregarded all of these rules anytime they stood between him and his interests or whims.
Abu Bakr and Muhammad had pledged to each other to be brothers. So according to their customs Ayesha was supposed to be like a niece to the “Holy Prophet” of Mecca. Yet that did not stop him asking Abu Bakr for her hand, even when she was only six years old.
But this moral relativist “Holy Prophet” of Mecca would use the same excuse to reject a woman he did not like.
Sahih Bukhari V.7, B62, N. 37
Narrated Ibn ‘Abbas:
It was said to the Prophet, “Won’t you marry the daughter of Hamza?” He said, “She is my foster niece (brother’s daughter). ”
Hamza and Abu Bakr both were the foster brothers of Muhammad. But Ayesha must have been too pretty for the “Holy Prophet” of Mecca to abide by the codes of ethics and custom.
In the following Hadith he confided to Aisha that he had dreamed of her before soliciting her from her father.
Sahih Bukhari 9.140
Narrated ‘Aisha:
Allah’s Apostle said to me, “You were shown to me twice (in my dream) before I married you. I saw an angel carrying you in a silken piece of cloth, and I said to him, ‘Uncover (her),’ and behold, it was you. I said (to myself), ‘If this is from Allah, then it must happen.
Whether Muhammad had actually such a dream or he just said it to please Aisha is not the point. What matters here is that it indicates that Aisha was a baby being “carried” by an angel when the Prophet dreamed of her.
There are numerous hadithes that explicitly reveal the age of Ayesha at the time of her marriage. Here are some of them.
Sahih Bukhari 5.236.
Narrated Hisham’s father:
Khadija died three years before the Prophet departed to Medina. He stayed there for two years or so and then he married ‘Aisha when she was a girl of six years of age, and he consumed that marriage when she was nine years old.
Sahih Bukhari 5.234
Narrated Aisha:
The Prophet engaged me when I was a girl of six (years). We went to Medina and stayed at the home of Bani-al-Harith bin Khazraj. Then I got ill and my hair fell down. Later on my hair grew (again) and my mother, Um Ruman, came to me while I was playing in a swing with some of my girl friends. She called me, and I went to her, not knowing what she wanted to do to me. She caught me by the hand and made me stand at the door of the house. I was breathless then, and when my breathing became Allright, she took some water and rubbed my face and head with it. Then she took me into the house. Sunan Abu-Dawud Book 41, Number 4915, also Number 4916 and Number 4917
Narrated Aisha, Ummul Mu’minin:
The Apostle of Allah (peace_be_upon_him) married me when I was seven or six. When we came to Medina, some women came. according to Bishr’s version: Umm Ruman came to me when I was swinging. They took me, made me prepared and decorated me. I was then brought to the Apostle of Allah (peace_be_upon_him), and he took up cohabitation with me when I was nine. She halted me at the door, and I burst into laughter.
In the above hadith we read that Aisha was swinging, This is a play of little girls not grown up people. The following Hadith is particularly interesting because it shows that Aisha was so small that was not aware what was going on when the Holy Prophet “surprised” her by going to her.
Sahih Bukhari Volume 7, Book 62, Number 90
Narrated Aisha:
When the Prophet married me, my mother came to me and made me enter the house (of the Prophet) and nothing surprised me but the coming of Allah’s Apostle to me in the forenoon.
Must have been quite a surprise! But the following is also interesting because it demonstrates that she was just a kid playing with her dolls. Pay attention to what the interpreter wrote in the parenthesis. (She was a little girl, not yet reached the age of puberty)
Sahih Bukhari Volume 8, Book 73, Number 151
Narrated ‘Aisha:
I used to play with the dolls in the presence of the Prophet, and my girl friends also used to play with me. When Allah’s Apostle used to enter (my dwelling place) they used to hide themselves, but the Prophet would call them to join and play with me. (The playing with the dolls and similar images is forbidden, but it was allowed for ‘Aisha at that time, as she was a little girl, not yet reached the age of puberty.) (Fateh-al-Bari page 143, Vol.13)
Sahih Muslim Book 008, Number 3311
‘A’isha (Allah be pleased with her) reported that Allah’s Apostle (may peace be upon him) married her when she was seven years old, and he was taken to his house as a bride when she was nine, and her dolls were with her; and when he (the Holy Prophet) died she was eighteen years old.
The holy Prophet died when he was 63. So he must have married Aisha when he as 51 and went to her when he was 54.
Sahih Bukhari Volume 8, Book 73, Number 33
Narrated ‘Aisha:
I never felt so jealous of any woman as I did of Khadija, though she had died three years before the Prophet married me, and that was because I heard him mentioning her too often, and because his Lord had ordered him to give her the glad tidings that she would have a palace in Paradise, made of Qasab and because he used to slaughter a sheep and distribute its meat among her friends.
Khadija died in December of 619 AD. That is two years before Hijra. At that time the Prophet was 51-years-old. So in the same year that Khadija died the prophet married Aisha and took her to his home 3 years later, i.e. one year after Hijra. But until she “grew up” he married Umm Salama.
In another part Aisha claims that as long as she remembers her parents were always Muslims.
Sahih Bukhari Volume 5, Book 58, Number 245
Narrated ‘Aisha:
(the wife of the Prophet) I never remembered my parents believing in any religion other than the true religion (i.e. Islam),
If Ayesha was older i.e. 16 or 18 as some Muslims claim, she would have remembered the religion of her parents prior to becoming Muslims.
Now someone may still claim that all these hadithes are lies. People are free to say whatever they want. But truth is clear like the Sun for those who have eyes.
No sane person would be aroused by a 6-year-old child. Decent people wince at the thought of this shameful act. Yet some Muslims deny them. The question is why so many followers of Muhammad would fabricate so many false hadithes about the age of Aisha, which incidentally confirm each other?
MUHAMMAD WOULD THIGH WITH BABY AISHA
HOW TO THIGH & GET HIGH
Now let us see how thighing is practiced on a female child & who began this evil practice. According to an official Fatwa issued in Saudi Arabia, the prophet Muhammad began to practice thighing his child-bride, Aisha when she was 6 years old until she reached 9 years of age (Fatwa No. 31409). The hadith mentioned the prophet Muhammad started performing literal sex with Aisha ONLY when she reached the age of 9 (Sahih al-Bukhari, book 62, hadith No. 89).
Muslim scholars collectively agree, a child becomes an adult, available for sexual intercourse as soon as she reaches the age of nine. Likewise, the Shari’a allows any of the faithful to marry a six-year-old child.
According to the fatwa, the prophet Muhammad could not have sex with his fiancée, Aisha when she was six due to her small size & age. However, the fatwa said that at age six, he would put his penis between her thighs and massage it gently because he did not want to harm her.
Imagine a man of 51 removing the clothes of a 6-year-old girl and slipping his erect penis between her thighs, rubbing her until he ejaculated and his semen ran down her thighs. To this day, this is considered a benevolent act on the part of the adult male “not wanting to harm her.” What harm could be inflicted upon a young girl mentally and emotionally if not a grown man showing her his penis and stripping her of her clothes and rubbing his male organ between her legs?
Of course the twisted mind that does such an evil to a female child, would not hesitate to ejaculate on her body. And if this sexually perverted evil frame of mind committed such an act upon a child, the pedophile would not stop at ejaculating on her. His evil desire would go further and rape the child before she was a mature adult. This is exactly what Muhammad did to Aisha when she was yet a child of 9.
Before she reached puberty, he began to have sex with her. Let us see what the fatwa said about the prophet of Islam and his child-bride, Aisha.”Praise be to Allah and peace be upon the one after whom there is no [further] prophet. After the permanent committee for the scientific research and fatwas (religious decrees) reviewed the question presented to the grand Mufti Abu Abdullah Muhammad Al-Shamari, with reference number 1809 issued on 3/8/1421(Islamic calendar).
The inquirer asked the following: ‘It has become wide spread these days, and especially during weddings, the habit of mufakhathat of the children (mufakhathat literally translated means “placing between the thighs of children” which means placing the male erected penis between the thighs of a child). What is the opinion of scholars knowing full well that the prophet, the peace and prayers of Allah be upon him, also practiced the “thighing” of Aisha – the mother of believers ?’
After the committee studied the issue, they gave the following reply: ‘It has not been the practice of the Muslims throughout the centuries to resort to this unlawful practice that has come to our countries from pornographic movies that the kofar (infidels) and enemies of Islam send. As for the Prophet, peace and prayers of Allah be upon him, thighing his fiancée Aisha. She was six years of age and he could not have intercourse with her due to her small age.
That is why the prophet peace and prayers of Allah be upon him placed his penis between her thighs and massaged it lightly, as the apostle of Allah had control of his penis not like other believers'” (Fatwa No. 31409).
Thighing of children is practiced in many Arab and Muslim countries, notably in Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Iran, and the Gulf countries. Also evil practices like altamatu’a bil almuka’aba (pleasure from sexual contact with her breasts), altamatu’a bil alsagirah (pleasure from sexual contact with a baby girl), altamatu’a bil alradi’ah, (pleasure from sexual contact with a suckling female infant), (Reported by Baharini Women’s Rights Activist, Ghada Jamshir)
AISHA WASHING SEMEN FROM MUHAMMAD’S CLOTHES

I used to wash the traces of Janaba (semen) from the clothes of the Prophet and he used to go for prayers while traces of water were still on it (water spots were still visible).

MUHAMMAD RESERVED BABY AISHA FOR HIMSELF, BECAUSE SHE WAS A VIRGIN & HE WANTED A VIRGIN.
Sahih al-Bukhari, volume 7, book 62, number 17
Narrated jabir bin ‘abdullah:
When I got married, Allah’s apostle said to me, “what type of lady have you married?” I replied, “I have married a matron.” he said, “why, don’t you have a liking for the virgins and for fondling them?” Jabir also said: Allah’s apostle said, “why didn’t you marry a young girl so that you might play with her and she with you?”
Hence, Muhammad’s comments indicate that his reason for marrying Aisha while a young virgin is so that he could fondle and sexually play with her!
AISHA WAS NOT THE ONLY BABY GIRL MUHAMMAD FANTASIZED ABOUT
In the classic history, Sirat Rasul Allah (The Life of Muhammad) by Ibn Ishaq, there is an account in which Muhammad expressed a marital interest in a crawling baby. This event seems to have occurred around the time of the battle of of Badr, when he was about 55 years old. He had married Aisha two years earlier, when he was 53 years of age.
(Suhayli, ii. 79: in the Riwaya of Yunus i. I. Recorded that the apostle saw her (Ummu’lfadl) when she was a baby crawling before him and said,
‘if she grows up and I am still alive I will marry her.’
but he died before she grew up and sufyan b. Al-aswad b. ‘Abdu’l-asad al-Makhzumi married her and she bore him rizq and lubab… [Ibn Ishaq, The Life of Muhammad, Karachi, p. 311]
Muhammad saw Um Habiba the daughter of Abbas while she was fatim (age of nursing) and he said, “if she grows up while I am still alive, I will marry her.” (Musnad Ahmad, number 25636)
MUHAMMAD WOULD BATH & FONDLE AISHA
Bukhari (6:298) – Muhammad would take a bath with the little Aisha and fondle her.
Narrated ‘Aisha:
The prophet and I used to take a bath from a single pot while we were junub. During the menses, he used to order me to put on an izar (dress worn below the waist) and used to fondle me. While in itikaf, he used to bring his head near me and I would wash it while I used to be in my periods (menses).
MUHAMMAD CONSUMMATED HIS MARRIAGE TO BABY AISHA, WHEN SHE WAS 9
Sunaan abu Dawud: book 11, number 2161:
Narrated Aisha, Ummul Mu’minin:
I and the apostle of Allah (peace_be_upon_him) used to lie in one cloth at night while I was menstruating. If anything from me smeared him, he washed the same place (that was smeared), and did not wash beyond it. If anything from him smeared his clothe, he washed the same place and did not wash beyond that, and prayed with it (i.e. The clothe).
MUHAMMAD WOULD SEXUALLY ABUSE HIS WIVES
Bukhari (6:300) – Muhammad’s wives had to be available for the prophet’s fondling even when they were having their menstrual period.
Bukhari volume 1, book 6, number 299:
Narrated ‘Abdur-rahman bin al-Aswad:
…(on the authority of his father) ‘Aisha said: “Whenever Allah’s apostle wanted to fondle anyone of us during her periods (menses), he used to order her to put on an izar and start fondling her.” ‘Aisha added, “None of you could control his sexual desires as the prophet could.”
WOMEN ARE SEXUAL OBJECTS
Allah promoted this abusive sexual behavior:
“Your women are a tilth for you (to cultivate) so go to your tilth as ye will” [Koran 2:223]
Koran (2:223) likens a woman to a field (tilth), to be used by a man as he wills. In this verse, Allah also gives divine sanction for anal sex.
According to Islam, Muhammad is the perfection of humanity and the prototype of the most wonderful human conduct. He had sex with Aisha at the age of nine, which amounts to rape of a minor. He also left behind an enduring legacy for aged Muslim men to fulfill their carnal desires contrary to natural law and to the life-long devastation of young girls.
ALLAH PROMOTES PEDOPHILIA
Quran 65.4 “and those of your women as have passed the age of monthly courses, for them the ‘iddah (prescribed divorce period), if you have doubts (about their periods), is three months, and for those who have no courses [(i.e. They are still immature) their ‘iddah (prescribed period) is three months likewise, except in case of death] . And for those who are pregnant (whether they are divorced or their husbands are dead), their ‘iddah (prescribed period) is until they deliver (their burdens) (give birth) and whosoever fears Allah and keeps his duty to him, he will make his matter easy for him.”
Sura (65:4) lays down rules for divorce and sets the prescribed period for divorce. It clearly says, Muslim men can marry (and divorce) little girls who have not yet reached menstruation age. This means that Muslim men were allowed to marry baby girls. This is the eternal word of god. This is an eternal law of Allah. All Muslims must believe in this teaching. Otherwise, they are no longer Muslims but apostates of Islam.
ALLAH ORDAINS RAPE
“All married women (are forbidden unto you) save those (captives) whom your right hands possess.” 4:24
You can have sex with slaves women captured in war (with whom you may rape or do whatever you like).
Muhammad established an appalling precedent for abuse of young girls which is continued to be nurtured by the Muslim faithful. For example, Ayatollah Khomeini of Iran gave a fatwa about Quran 65.4:
“A man can marry a girl younger than nine years of age, even if the girl is still a baby being breastfed. A man, however is prohibited from having intercourse with a girl younger than nine, other sexual acts such as foreplay, rubbing, kissing and sodomy is allowed. A man having intercourse with a girl younger than nine years of age has not committed a crime, but only an infraction, if the girl is not permanently damaged. If the girl, however, is permanently damaged, the man must provide for her all her life. But this girl will not count as one of the man’s four permanent wives. He also is not permitted to marry the girl’s sister.”
MARRIAGE IN ISLAM: A WHOREHOUSE FOR MEN, A JAILHOUSE FOR WOMEN
In the Quran, there is no word for marriage. The only word used is nikah, which means ‘having sex’ or ‘sexual intercourse’ in Arabic.
WIVES IN ISLAM
According to Quran a wife is some one with whom you have sex with.
Different types of wives are:
1. A paid wife with an open ended contract (House wife)
2. A paid wife with a fixed term contract (Muta wife)
3. A paid visitation only wife with a visitation contract (Misyar wife)
4. Slave girl (bought gifted or captured)
The price paid for vagina is called Mahr. Thus according to Quran a contract wife is like a whore who gets paid for her vagina called Mahr while a slave girl wife is like a whore who does not get paid a Mahr for her vagina.
Q 4.24: Seek out wives by means of your wealth, and give those with whom ye have cohabited their price.
APPROACH HER IN ANY WAY YOU WANT
A wife has no say in the way the husband approaches her for enjoyment.
Prophet said (Bukhari: Volume 7, Book 62, Number 81): “you are given the right to enjoy the women’s private parts”.
Q 2.223: Your women are a tilth for you, so go to your tilth (have sexual relations in any manners), when or how you will. (trs. Hilali & Khan)
WIVES CAN BE DUMPED AT WILL
Like a client can dump a whore at will and pick up another one, the Quran says a husband can dump his wife and get another one.
Q 4.20. If you want to exchange one wife for another than don’t take back any part of what you paid her.
Hadiths say that Hasan Bin Ali, Prophet Mohammad’s beloved grand son, who died young, went through more than 70 wives in his short life.
The husband is like a client of a whore. Once a wife is paid Mahr she is obliged to submit her private parts 24/7 to him.
WHORES CAN DUMP A CLIENT, MUSLIM WIVES CANNOT DUMP HER HUSBAND
If a whore changes her mind and does not want sex she can. She can return the money and kick him out. However, in Islam a wife does not have that liberty. Once the Mahr is paid her vagina is his to enjoy. She must submit to him any time he gets an urge.
Ibn Majah 1854: “Prophet said if he asks her to surrender herself to him for sexual intercourse on a camel’s back, she should not refuse him even on a camel’s saddle.”
However in our prophet’s case, whenever he had a huge urge (erection) and his child-wife got scared and ran away during foreplay, he had to catch her, bribe her with a new doll and drag her back to bed.
SAYING NO COSTS ISLAMIC WIVES WHIPPING AND DIVINE CURSING
If a wife refuses sex to a husband Allah ordered husbands to give her a good whipping.
Quran 4.34: Scourge (whip) your wife if she does not obey.
And ordered angels to curse her all night.
Bukhari 4.54.460: “If a husband calls his wife to his bed for sex and if she , he angels will curse her till morning”.
A WHIPPED WIFE MUST BE PUT ON AN INJURED LIST
Once a wife is whipped badly, she cannot lie down and have sex without severe pain, seriously limiting the ways a husband can approach her thus violating aya 2.223. Our prophet told the momins to postpone sex with her.
Bukhari Volume 7, Book 62, Number 132:
The Prophet said, “When you flog your wife like you flog your slave then postpone the sexual intercourse.”
VAGINA CONTRACTS
OPEN-ENDED CONTRACT (REGULAR WIFE)
A n open ended contract is signed for a negotiated price for an undetermined period. In addition wife gets boarding lodging and clothing. However if the husband decides to dump her, he can break the contract verbally and kick her out (4.20) any time he wants to but he cannot get any money back he paid for her vagina even if he used it for five minutes.
Q 4.20: if you replace a wife by another, you cannot get any part of Mahr back even if it was a large sum.
A broken contract cannot be renewed until the her vagina is used by another momin and is then released (halala).
Q 2.230: And if he has divorced her, then she is not lawful unto him thereafter until she has sex with another husband. And if he has divorced her then she is not lawful unto him thereafter until she has married another husband. Then, if the other husband divorces her, it is no sin on both of them that they reunite.
On the other hand a wife has no right to break a contract similarly. She can only break it if she can prove him to be impotent or insane in a court of law.
SHORT-TERM CONTRACT or MUTA WIFE
A man can sign a contract with a woman to use her vagina for a pre-determined period at negotiated price.
The contract can be renewed without the requirement of interim use of her vagina by another man.
VISITATION CONTRACT (MISYAR WIFE)
In this contract a husband visits a misyar wife for sexual pleasure and pays her for each visit. The husband does not have to provide her boarding and lodging.
WAYS TO ACQUIRE SLAVE GIRLS
A slave girl doesn’t get paid Mahr for her vagina. She is acquired as a free gift (Maria was a free gift for Prophet from Egyptian king), bought from another owner (sometimes prophet took away pretty girls for free from their owners*) or captured after killing her father or husband (prophet took 20% of the captured women from a raid booty).
Sahih Muslim, Book 019, Number 4345:

Prophet said: O Salama, give me that girl, may God bless your father. I said: She is for you. Messenger of Allah! By Allah, I have not yet disrobed her.

If Muhammad was a messenger of God or an honorable man, as he made his Allah to proclaim him thus, he should have known that what he was doing was dishonorable and unethical. And that this practice would become SUNNAH.
Although it is true that in the past people married at very young age. And it is also true that occasionally wealthy old men married very young girls. We have to realize that these people acted on their culture. We do not condemn them for they did not know better. What they did was the norm.
But we do condemn those cultures.
However, we cannot forgive with the same amnesty those who claimed to be the standard of rectitude amongst mankind. If average people could not distinguish the right from the wrong, the messengers of God, if they were from God, should have known better. If their claim was true, if their knowledge was divine, if they were inspired, they should not have followed the tradition of their people but should have set the example. Muhammad followed the morality of his people. But that morality was ethically wrong. He claimed to be the best human and the last messenger of God. According to him God has said to people all he wanted to say in the Quran and his religion is complete. There is no more guidance to come and his examples and teachings are all we need to know and follow for eternity. Yet what he did and said, under the light of modern values prove to be very wrong.
Now we realize that we cannot live by his examples any more, nor can we practice his teachings. Our morality has changed. We would certainly put a man in jail if he wanted to follow the Sunnah of the “Holy Prophet” of Meccap in this day and age and “marry” a 9-year-old child.
We would not allow someone to take people as slaves or trade in slavery as Muhammad did.
If we cannot follow the morality of Muhammad any more, if what he said and did do not fit in this modern day, why do we need Muhammad? What part of his teachings should we accept and what part should we discard? Who will determine that? This is an important question. If Muslims give themselves the freedom to pick and choose the teachings that most suit them, they should give the same freedom to others.
Suppose Muslims believe that marriage to a minor should be outlawed, or you do not feel that polygyny is appropriate any more for this day and age.
Suppose Muslims disagree with slavery, male or female circumcision, beating of the wives and do not believe in Jihad any more.
Suppose Muslims prefer to concentrate on other parts of Islam that they like, e.g. Salat, Zikat, Haj, etc. This is their choice.
But can they deny other Muslims whose choices are distinct from theirs?
How could these Muslims stop a Muslim who wants to follow those teachings of Islam that they consider outdated? By what authority can they dissuade one who wants to spread Islam by Jihad, like Muhammad did? How can they prohibit themm not to assault sexually a 9-year-old child by marrying her? What would they say to a Muslim who wishes to marry up to four wives and decides to punish them by beating them if they are disobedient, as the “Holy Prophet” of Mecca instructed them to do?
If they use logic in picking the teachings that are best, they are saying that logic is superior to revelation and therefore they are subscribing to the freethinker’s way of thinking not Muhammad’s.

Custom, tradition, and intellectual laziness lead men to follow their religious leaders blindly. Religions have been the sole cause of the bloody wars that have ravaged mankind. Religions have also been resolutely hostile to philosophical speculation and to scientific research. The so-called holy scriptures are worthless and have done more harm than good, whereas the “writings of the ancients like Plato, Aristotle, Euclid, and Hippocrates have rendered much greater service to humanity.”

A religion can not be justified by another religion. It was a kind nature of Muhammad that he also valued the ancient Judeo-Christian faiths. According to Islam the unbelievers are filthy and one should not befriend them. (Q.9:28) The Quran says, “O you who believe! Take not the Jews and the Christians as awliya’ (friends, protectors, helpers, etc.), they are but awliya’ to one another…Q.5: 51

Why is Allah so desperate to be known as the only god? If there are no other gods but him, what is the fuss? Why should he even care whether anyone knows him and praises him or not?
Consider the size of this universe. Light that travels at a speed of 300,000 kilometers per second takes 40 billion years to reach us from galaxies that are at the edges of the visible universe. The visible universe could be a speck in comparison to the actual size of the universe. How many trillions of galaxies are out there? Each one of these galaxies contains hundreds of billions of stars? Each star has a dozen of planets. The universe is so big. Why is Allah so concerned about whether he is worshipped by insignificant creatures on this tiny planet?
In verse 8:65, Allah tells his prophet, “O Prophet! rouse the Believers to the fight. If there are twenty amongst you, patient and persevering, they will vanquish two hundred: if a hundred, they will vanquish a thousand of the Unbelievers.”
Why did Allah would send a messenger to make war. Shouldn’t God teach us to love each other and be tolerant of one another? If Allah were so concerned about being worshipped to the extent that he would kill them and burn them if they don’t believe, why would he not kill them himself? Why does he ask us to do his dirty work? Are we Allah’s henchmen and gangsters?
“I will instill terror into the hearts of the unbelievers: smite ye above their necks and smite all their fingertips off them.” 8:12
It seemed that Allah was not just satisfied with killing the unbelievers; he enjoyed torturing them before killing them. But at the same time he was incapable of inflicting any harm on anyone and relied on Muslims to do his dirty work for him. Smiting people’s heads from above their necks and chopping their fingertips? Are these divine attributes? Would God really give such orders? And yet the worst is what he promised to do with the unbelievers in the other world:
These two antagonists dispute with each other about their Lord: But those who deny (their Lord),- for them will be cut out a garment of Fire: over their heads will be poured out boiling water. With it will be scalded what is within their bodies, as well as (their) skins. In addition there will be maces of iron (to punish) them. Every time they wish to get away therefrom, from anguish, they will be forced back therein, and (it will be said), “Taste ye the Penalty of Burning!” 22:19-22
How could the creator of this universe be so cruel? It is shocking to learn that the Quran tells Muslims to:
– kill unbelievers wherever they find them (Q.2:191),
– murder them and treat them harshly (Q.9:123),
– fight them, (Q.8:65),until no other religion than Islam is left (Q.2:193)
– humiliate them and impose on them a penalty tax if they are Christians or Jews, (Q.9:29)
– slay them if they are Pagans (Q.9:5), crucify, or cut off their hands and feet,
– expel them from the land in disgrace. And as if this were not enough, “they shall have a great punishment in world hereafter” (Q.5:34),
– not befriend their own fathers or brothers if they are not believers (Q.9:23), (Q.3:28),
– kill their own family in the battles of Badr and Uhud and asks Muslims to “strive against the unbelievers with great endeavor” (Q.25:52),
– be stern with them because they belong to hell (Q.66:9), etc, etc.
When the Quran speaks of righteousness, it does not mean righteousness in the sense that we know it. Righteousness means doing what Muhammad said and did, which was far from being righteous.
A Muslim can be a killer and yet be a righteous person. Good actions in the sense that we generally understand them are secondary. In fact they are unimportant altogether. The belief in Allah and his messenger are the ultimate purpose of a person’s life.

One Muslim wrote, he prefers a figurative understanding of the Quran. Well, we can make ourselves believe in anything if we try hard enough and interpret it figuratively. In this way you can believe even in Santa Clause and in unicorn.
No book should be interpreted in any other way than its explicit meaning, especially if it purports to be a book of guidance. A book of guidance must be clear and without equivocation leaving no room for interpretation. If it does, then it is no longer a clear book of guidance.
A divine book of guidance must be understandable by everyone. Let us say you are lost and you stop to ask someone for direction. Don’t you expect to receive a clear direction? Will you trust this person if he points to different directions? I am sure you’d think he is a kook. So why should we rely on someone claiming to have come with a clear divine guidance whose guidance is confusing, contradictory and require interpretation?
It is not befitting for God to play such pranks with humans and mislead people. And yet that is exactly what Muhammad said Allah does. He misleads people. and he is the best deceiver . (Q.3:54; 8:30)
Muslims have made all sorts of attempts to interpret their holy text. That book is simply unpalatable and illogical. As the result they strived to give esoteric meanings to asinine statements. Take the example of Mi’raj. This is, as it has always been, a foolish claim. Many of the followers of Muhammad left him when he made that claim. He said this was a test for them. According to him only stupid people will pass the test if faith and can be Muslim. Obviously no rational person can believe in that balderdash, more so now that we have a better understanding of the universe.
Now, Muslims were much more intelligent than their prophet. It was hard for them to swallow his nonsense. At the same time it was not possible for them to question his word. So they came up with this idea that the Quran has some hidden meaning. The Shiites who are notorious for fabricating hadiths have invented a hadith in which they claim Muhammad said the Qur’an has an inner meaning, and that this inner meaning conceals a yet deeper inner meaning, and so on (up to seven levels of meaning).
This view is shared by the Sufis, and the Ismailia who also believe the Quran has a batin, Inner or esoteric meaning, and a zahir, apparent or exoteric meaning.
Their interpretation are improbable and quite arbitrary. For example, in “ Say: O unbelievers! I worship not that which you worship”(109/1-2) unbelievers is taken to mean individual self, or the celestial whores are interpreted as “divine visions.”
In his book Tamheedat, Ayn-al-Qudat Hamadani interprets “The fire kindled by Allah, which rises above the hearts” (104/6-7), as “passion of divine love.”
All one has to do to see the absurdity of this claim is to read this small sura. In this sura Muhammad is maligning one of his detractors (allegedly the chief Walid ibn Mughira) and says he “amasses wealth and considers it a provision (against mishap); He thinks that his wealth will make him immortal. Nay! he shall most certainly be hurled into the crushing disaster, And what will make you realize what the crushing disaster is? It is the fire kindled by Allah, Which rises above the hearts.”
How in the world Hamadani came to interpret this fire as “passion of divine love” is beyond me. I
It is not difficult to see such interpretations are ridiculous. Muhammad gave a detailed description of the physical attributes of these virgin whores. From the Quran we learn the celestial whores have high bosoms, (firm breasts) black eyes, very white skin, so on and so forth.
No matter how one tries to interpret the Quran the interpretations don’t add up. Sometimes they become outright ridiculous. I saw on Youtube a very high ranking cleric from Pakistan (I believe an Ahmadi/Qadiani) saying that the jinns mentioned in the Quran are bacteria. His reasoning was that in one hadith Muhammad said don’t wipe your arses with bone because it is food for jinns. He then concluded that since bacteria eat the meat on the bone, ergo, jinns mentioned in the Quran are bacteria. This illustrious cleric forgot that in other places Muhammad claimed that he visited the town of the jinns, spent a night with them and converted many of them into Islam. Did Muhammad transform himself into bacteria to perform this miracle?
The best answer to show that the Quran must not be interpreted in any other way than its obvious meaning comes from the Quran itself. The Quran repeatedly claims to be a “clear book” (5:15) “easy to understand” (44:58 , 54:22 , 54:32, 54:40) “explained in detail” (6:114), “conveyed clearly”, (5:16, 10:15) and with “no doubt” in it (2:1). Are you going to interpret these verses too?
I know it is hard, but honesty requires that we reject Islam and give up on that fantasy once and for all. Reinterpreting the Quran and reinventing Islam are futile. We have to stick to the truth. Truth is not painful. It is the shattering of lies that is painful. But once those lies are shattered, they are shattered for good. You will be set free and only sky will by your limit. It is truly a new birth to be able to think freely without the shackles of blind faith.
The very idea of interpreting a divine book of guidance is a logical fallacy. Let us say a teacher is not very specific in explaining his subject and leaves it to the students who interpret it in their way. Would you say he is a good teacher? Let us say he has 73 students, all but one flunk. Doesn’t that raise an eyebrow that maybe the teacher is at fault?

Zakir Naik is viewed as a modern day Muhammad of India. However not all muslims approve of him. In one of his videos he attempts to prove that the Quran mentions that the earth is round. The article below shows that the Quran states otherwise.
The Quran and the Hadith contain references to creation of the world and physical realities that are nothing short of scientific heresies. Despite the efforts of many Muslim apologists who have tried to reinterpret them and find in them some esoteric meaning, their contrast with science and logic belie the claim that Islam is divinely inspired. Take the following example.
Sahih Bukhari Volume 4, Book 54, Number 414
“… He (Muhammad) said, “First of all, there was nothing but Allah, and (then He created His Throne). His throne was over the water, and He wrote everything in the Book (in the Heaven) and created the Heavens and the Earth…”
The claim that Allah’s throne was over waters is mentioned also in the Quran 11.007
“He it is Who created the heavens and the earth in six Days – and His Throne was over the waters.”
Does this make sense? Notice that in the hadith the translator has made a parenthesis, within which he has written, (then He created His Throne). Obviously he too has noticed that if there was nothing, Allah’s throne could not have existed either.
What about the waters? This verse and its supporting hadith imply that waters existed before God created the world. What was holding that water? Doesn’t water need a container? Obviously an earth must exist to hold that water. And can earth exist without the space or the universe that contains it? It appears as if there is chronological error in the order of creation.
Cosmos according to the Quran and hadith
According to Muhammad the Earth is flat made in seven layers. There are several quranic verses and hadithes that confirm this.
Q: 18: 86
Until, when he reached the setting of the sun, he found it set in a spring of murky water: Near it he found a People: We said: “O Zul-qarnain! (thou hast authority,) either to punish them, or to treat them with kindness.”
89. Then followed he (another) way,
90. Until, when he came to the rising of the sun, he found it rising on a people for whom We had provided no covering protection against the sun.
It is generally believed that Zul-qaranain is Alexander the Great who, according to the old folks had conquered the world from one end to the other. The truth is that Sun rises and sets in ALL places. One does not have to go ‘another way’ or to the other end of the world to find it rising or setting. It is obvious that Muhammad, like most of his contemporaries believed that the Earth is flat and the Sun moves in the sky rising from one place and setting in another. The following hadith supports this idea.
Sahih Bukhari Volume 4, Book 54, Number 421
Narrated Abu Dhar:
The Prophet asked me at sunset, “Do you know where the sun goes (at the time of sunset)?” I replied, “Allah and His Apostle know better.” He said, “It goes (i.e. travels) till it prostrates Itself underneath the Throne and takes the permission to rise again, and it is permitted and then (a time will come when) it will be about to prostrate itself but its prostration will not be accepted, and it will ask permission to go on its course but it will not be permitted, but it will be ordered to return whence it has come and so it will rise in the west. And that is the interpretation of the Statement of Allah: “And the sun Runs its fixed course for a term (decreed). That is The Decree of (Allah) The Exalted in Might, The All-Knowing.”
These are fairy tales. Sun going beneath the throne of God, prostrating and asking permission to rise the next day? These things are for children stories.
The absurdity does not end there. The Quran 78:6 says,
Have We not made the earth as a bed?
أَلَمْ نَجْعَلِ الْأَرْضَ مِهَادًا
“Bed” is the correct translation of mehad, made by Hilali Khan, Sher Ali and Sale. Palmer and Rodwell have translated it as “couch” and Arberry as “cradle.” Other translators have been vague and have translated it as “expanse.” Clearly they too have noticed that this verse is wrong. Earth does not look like a bed, unless you are a seventh century Arab with no knowledge of the world.
All these verses and hadiths describe a flat Earth, where the Sun rises from one side of it and sets in the murky waters on the opposite side. Is there a Throne somewhere in the sky or “under the earth” for the Sun to stop and ask permission to rise again?
The absurdity of these tales is self-explanatory. Yet Muslims never question them. If it is in the Quran, it must be true even if it is blatantly absurd.
These tales originate from the lore of cultures before Islam. In 1952 Theodor H. Gaster compiled a book titled, The Oldest Stories in the Word. It is a collection of the traditions of the Babylonian, Hittite and Canaanite people of 3500 years ago. These stories were lost and then unearthed in the 20th century. The similarities of those old stories and those in Quran and the Bible are astounding. They prove that the Quran is not a divine book, but a collection of old tales that were part of the legends of Arabs.
In another hadith Muhammad compares the trajectory of the Sun to a bow.
Bukhari, Volume 4, Book 52, Number 51:
Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet said, “A place in Paradise as small as a bow is better than all that on which the sun rises and sets (i.e. all the world).”
It is clear that Muhammad thought the sun forms and arch, like a bow from the time that it rises to the time that it sets.
This is how the movement of the sun appears from the Earth. To the primitive people it appeared that the sun rises from the east and sets in the west forming a bow in the sky.
There is nothing scientific in the Quran. This book was written in seventh century AD, and reflects popular cosmological beliefs characteristic of that period. Muhammad was also an unlettered man. His knowledge of the world was limited to hearsay. Even during his time there were people with better understanding of the cosmos.
Like other people of his time, he thought that the sun and moon orbit the earth
36:38-40 (Asad) And the sun: it runs in an orbit of its own that is laid down by the will of the Almighty, the All-Knowing; and [in] the moon, for which We have determined phases till it becomes like an old date-stalk, dried-up and curved: neither may the sun overtake the moon, nor can the night usurp the time of day, since all of them float through space [in accordance with Our laws.
Any school child can see that this description of the solar system is wrong. The sun and the moon don’t chase each other. What is missing here is the rotation of the earth that is actually what makes the day and night, follow each other. To Muhammad all this was a mystery, a miracle that had been ordained by Allah. He was amazed for the fact that “the sun and the moon are made punctual.” (Q. 55:5) and thought that heaven is a roof covering the earth and that “He created the night and the day, and the sun and the moon, each in an orbit floating,” (Q. 021:032-33).
These errors show that the author of the Quran was not the maker of the universe but a very ignorant man.

Is Islam a Religion?
Rebecca Bynum has released her new book titled Allah is Dead, where she argues why Islam is not a religion. Her concern is that by classifying Islam as a religion and giving it the tax exempt status, we are unwittingly supporting a belief system that aims to destroy us.
Bynum says it is much closer to ideologies such as material determinism, nihilism and even social Darwinism than it is to either Christianity or Judaism. In fact there are many similarities between Islam and Nazism and Marxism. All these three ideologies are totalitarian and believe ends justify the means.
However, what is religion and what is not is a complex question. No two religions are alike. There are some similarities between Judaism and Christianity because they share common roots. However, Hinduism is a lot different. Hinduism is a vast set of philosophies coming from many sages. There is a common thread going through them and that is why we classify them in one group and call them Hinduism. Hinduism is basically the collective philosophies of Indians.
Buddhism is also a philosophy. It is not even theistic. In Buddhism the belief in God is optional. However, we classify Hinduism and Buddhism as religion because they have moral and mystical teachings, which are the domains of religion. They also have rituals which is characteristic of religion.
Then we have Confucianism and Daoism. It is difficult to call these beliefs religion. Daoism has a mystical dimension shared by religions. Confucianism is entirely this worldly. The teachings of Confucius are about ethics and social order. There is no mention of God or revelation in Confucianism.
There are also animistic religions such as shamanism. The belief in these religions is focused on spirits and magical power. They don’t focus on morality and ethics. They focus on personal empowerment.
Islam is influenced by Christianity and Judaism and shares many features with these religions. However, it has a dimension that these two faiths don’t and that is its political dimension. While Jesus was clear that his kingdom is not of this world, Muhammad’s main objective was to conquer the world and dominate it. This goal is so paramount that for its achievement morality and ethics can be sacrificed. Muslims are allowed and even encouraged to break the rules of ethics and fairness in order to make Islam dominant.
The Bahai Faith also proposed a world government supervised by a Universal House of Justice, composed of nine elected men who are deemed to be infallible. In this Orwellian system of government opposition has no place. At the same time morality and ethics among Bahais is of paramount importance. They are even taught it is better to be killed than kill.
As you see religions come in all shapes and forms. Cults are also religion. We call them cult because their members are few and they have little power. Once they become powerful with millions of devotees they graduate as religion. Christianity was deemed to be cult when it was still at its infancy.
What is a religion cannot be well defined. Each person’s definition is different and there can never be a consensus. Should religion be theistic? In that case Buddhism cannot be defined as religion. Should it have one god or can it have many? Should it believe in afterlife?

Nonetheless I know for a fact that my faith is real. Why I cannot form a tax exempt church consisting of me, myself and my person? Does number matter? How many people should I proselytize so my church is recognized as a legitimate religion? My religion teaches me that animals are also humans. His holiness Bugs Bunny pbuh is a rabbit. I can recruit my cat and all the cats and dogs in my neighbourhood. Who can say no? Is that irrational? Maybe, but that is the beauty of faith. All faiths are irrational. That is why they are called faith.
This question will lead us to a slippery slope. It is better not to get into the discussion whether Islam, or any faith for that matter, is a religion or not. If their followers say it is, then we should accept it as such.
The problem with Islam is not because it is a religion. People can believe in what they want to believe. The problem with Islam is with its political dimension. Islam wants to take over the world through Jihad. Jihad has two wings – deception and terror. Islam has declared a war on Mankind. We must fight it. Islam must be destroyed not because it is a religion but because it aims to subdue us with terror.
Instead of trying to declassify Islam as a religion, something we can never do, we can easily ban its objectives. We can ban the Sharia and we can ban preaching most of the Quran because it incites hate and violence.
Islam is a chameleon system of belief. It is political but it operates as religion. It is religion but it has political goal. It intrudes in personal lives of all living beings, not just its believers. Even dogs and pigs are not spared from its onslaught.
We cannot attack Islam as a religion but we can attack it as a political system that is at odds with our constitution and at war with our system of government.
There is however, one thing that all religions share and that is the Golden Rule. Virtually all religions, no matter how diverse they are, have at their core the belief that one should treat others as one wishes to be treated. This Golden Rule is absent in Islam. In this sense Islam can be compared to KKK, Nazism and other racist supremacist groups. We can ban Islam because of this. If KKK can be banned why can’t Islam be banned?

The Quran is not infallible or whether it has been corrupted are two different subjects.
As for the first question the answer is that the Quran is not infallible. It contains thousands of errors, absurdities, contradictions, inaccuracies and sheer
nonsense. It contradicts logic, history, science, the Bible and even itself. It even contains grammatical errors that show its author was an illiterate man. Hardly can you find a book as absurd as this book. It is so poorly written that I cannot call it literature.
As for the other question, we don’t know. The Quran we have is the one compiled by Othman. He burned all other versions of the Quran so there can be no disagreement among Muslims. It is clear that the other versions must have been different from the one chosen by him otherwise he would not have burned them. How did he determine his version is the correct one and the other versions are not? There was no way for him to know for certainty. It is very possible that his pick was not the right one. However, since all other versions are destroyed, it is impossible to say whether the one we have is the authentic one.
Just see what has happened to the hadiths. Various people have reported the same story is various ways. They defer in details. The verses of the Quran could have also suffered similar fate, although perhaps not to that extent, because they were memorized.
However, with a little rational thinking, we can assume since Othman had to burn the other versions to avoid discrepancy, this book must have been altered. It is also possible that many of the verses of the present Quran are not what Muhammad said. The original verses may have been the ones that were burned. Many verses may have been lost forever. It is also possible that some verses have been added to the Quran that were not originally said by Muhammad.

Well Nabik. What’s new? Allah is supposed to be GOD. God is supposed to be infinitely GOOD. But you wish your Allah to punish people. What will the form of that punishment be? Is your Allah going to spank, slap, hit, torture, kill, maim, burn, all non-muslims? Is this what you describe as “Most merciful, Most beneficial”. I guess it only applies to Mohammed’s clan (Mohammedans) which we today know as muslims. Allah cannot be abused because he does not exist. He is the figment of Mohammed’s imagination. Muslims believe that when a person dies two angels, Nakeer and Munkar will visit him in his grave. They will question him about his faith. If he is a believer his tomb will be widened 70 cubits square (14.17 sq meters) and it will be illumined. Then he will be told to sleep like a bridegroom until the Day of Resurrection, when Allah will raise him up to reward him. If he is found a “hypocrite” (a disbeliever) they will order the tomb to squeeze him until his ribs are crushed.
Note that the actions of the person are not called into account. All that matters is whether he believes in Muhammad or not. That is all Muhammad wanted. He wanted people to believe in him. That was his only goal.
The Quran says that at the Day of Judgment, the Heaven will be split asunder (Q.84:1) and it will heave with (awful) heaving (Q.52:9), the Sun is overthrown (Q.81:1), the Earth is shaken with her (final) earthquake (Q. 99:1), the moon is eclipsed (Q.75:8) and Angel Israfil will sound the trumpet and all living creatures, mankind, angels and jinn then living, will die. Another blast and all will be raised to life. Allah’s throne will appear in the clouds, carried by 8 angels. Believers will receive a book of their deeds in their right hand, and unbelievers in their left hand. The books will be opened and men’s works weighed on scales (mizan). In fear, men will look for someone to plead with Allah. They will go to Adam, Abraham, Moses and Jesus, but find no help. At last they will turn to Muhammad.
Muslims also believe that there is a bridge across Hell, named Sirat, which is sharper than the edge of sword and thinner than a hair. Faithful Muslims will cross over it in the “twinkling of an eye” and enter Paradise. Other Muslims may fall into Hell, but will later be released. Unbelievers will fall into Hell and remain there forever.”
No one knows the exact time for the Day of Judgment, but it is going to be a Friday 10th of Muharram. At that time Allah will resurrect all the dead. He will collect their dispersed dusts and call them to visit him. People will see Allah as clear as seeing the sun in a not cloudy day. Then he will judge them based on their beliefs. Those who did not associate any other God with Allah, irrespective of what crimes they have committed, will go to Paradise.
There are also verses in the Quran that speak of good deeds.
[Al-Imran 3:30] On the Day when every soul will find itself confronted with all that it hath done of good and all that it hath done of evil (every soul) will long that there might be a mighty space of distance between it and that (evil).
However, evil for Muhammad did not mean what we think of it. By evil he meant disbelief. This is clear from the following verse.
[Ibrahim 14:44] And warn mankind of a day when the doom will come upon them, and those who did wrong will say: Our Lord! Reprieve us for a little while. We will obey Thy call and will follow the messengers. (It will be answered): Did ye not swear before that there would be no end for you?
For Allah nothing is more abhorrent than disbelief and once you believe all your sins will be forgiven, and your place in paradise is guaranteed. In a Hadith noted by Bukhari, the importance of belief over good deeds is emphasized.
Bukhari Volume 4, Book 54, Number 445:
Narrated Abu Dhar: The Prophet said, “Gabriel said to me, ‘Whoever amongst your followers die without having worshipped others besides Allah, will enter Paradise (or will not enter the (Hell) Fire).” The Prophet was asked. “Even if he has committed illegal sexual intercourse or theft?” He replied, “Even then.”
For disbelievers there is no salvation.
[al-Ma’idah 5:36] As for those who disbelieve, lo! if all that is in the earth were theirs, and as much again therewith, to ransom them from the doom on the Day of Resurrection, it would not be accepted from them. Theirs will be a painful doom.
[al-Kahf 18:106] That is their reward: hell, because they disbelieved, and made a jest of Our revelations and Our messengers.
[Ta Ha 20:100] Whoso turneth away from it, he verily will bear a burden on the Day of Resurrection,
We humans put a lot of emphasis on helping each other and on charitable works. Will those good deeds have any effect? No! Allah does not give a hoot whether you spent your entire life serving other humans and doing good deeds. If you did not believe in Muhammad you will go to hell no matter how much good you have done and if you believed in him all your sins and crimes can be forgiven.
[al-`Ankabut 29:25] The love between you is only in the life of the world. Then on the Day of Resurrection ye will deny each other and curse each other, and your abode will be the Fire, and ye will have no helpers.
“The love between you is only in the life of the world,” says Allah. Methinks these words cannot be from the creator of mankind. They must belong to a man who was unable to love and never experienced it. They describe the mind of a narcissist.
For a narcissist love has a very utilitarian scope. He loves others in the same way that he loves an object, like his car. As long as others satisfy his narcissistic needs, praise him, adulate him, attend to his physical and emotional needs, he loves them. If they fail in that he discards them, with the same emotional detachment that one would discard a broken car not worth fixing. The narcissist loves his spouse, children and friends as long as they provide him with his narcissistic supply and bolster his self image as a successful husband, father, citizen, etc. He loves others as long as they satisfy his needs and he can exploit them. He will discard them when he no longer needs them.
The Quran says the face of those who did not accept Allah will be blackened so they can be easily identified.
[az-Zumar 39:60] And on the Day of Resurrection thou (Muhammad) seest those who lied concerning Allah with their faces blackened. Is not the home of the scorners in hell?
Does that mean that the black people will go to hell mixed up the unbelievers whose faces will turn black?
Now this is quite an insult to blacks, but strangely they are the ones who are flocking to Islam. Little they know that Muhammad was quite scornful of blacks.
This stereotyping is reaffirms in another place.
[Al-Imran 3:106] On the Day when (some) faces will be whitened and (some) faces will be blackened; and as for those whose faces have been blackened, it will be said unto them: Disbelieved ye after your (profession of) belief? Then taste the punishment for that ye disbelieved.
The absurdity of these tales is self-evident. However, Muslims are unable to reason. What is the use of a wide and illumined grave to a deceased? Has anyone seen a widened and illumined grave? Is the grave of Muhammad himself widened?
Islamic Paradise is a physical place. That is why Allah has to collect all the dust of the dead people to punish or reward them. That makes even less sense when we know that we constantly renew the elements that compose our body.
Muhammad had no idea of the spiritual reality of man that is believed to be independent from the material world. Allah’s rewards are whores, wine, honey, gardens, mansions, cloths with golden embroidery and other material objects. If paradise is a spiritual realm what is the use of all these? His punishment is also physical – fire. Heaven, in Islam, is the place where believers will be reclining under the shade of trees, eating and drinking, and screwing the whores.
[Surah 55:54-46]“They will recline on carpets whose inner linings will be of rich brocade: the fruit of the gardens will be near. In them will be (Maidens), Chaste, restraining their glances, whom no man or Jinn before them has touched (virgins).”
Emotionally healthy people cannot be happy when they know their loved ones are suffering. There is something that binds us people together. It is called love. Unless you are a narcissist, you can’t possibly have fun, engage in debauchery and bang whores all day, when you know that your nearest and dearest are suffering. Can anyone possibly enjoy all the goodies of paradise when his loved ones are burning in hell?
Allah and his prophet did not think of that. That is because Allah is the figment of Muhammad’s imagination and Muhammad was a narcissist. Narcissists feel no love for anyone. The prophet assumed everyone is like him – emotionally sterile, bereft of feelings and empathy.
Can anyone enjoy paradise when they know that their loved ones who did not believe are being tortured in hell? Obviously Muslims can. If they are capable of murdering their nearest and dearest when they latter leaves faith, they are capable of rejoicing also if they are tortured in hell. Once a person becomes a Muslim, he becomes possessed by the spirit of Muhammad and loses every trace of humanity.
Good deeds have no merits. Belief in Allah and his messenger is the only requisite to inherit this materialistic paradise.
This place is only for Muslims. One cannot enter the paradise by believing in God. It’s is the belief in Muhammad that will guarantee such passage. In one place we are lead to believe that People of The Book, i.e. Jews and Christians will be saved,
[al-Hajj 22:17] Lo! those who believe (this revelation), and those who are Jews, and the Sabaeans and the Christians and the Magians and the idolaters – Lo! Allah will decide between them on the Day of Resurrection. Lo! Allah is Witness over all things.
Then again, this is contradicted by another verse.
[al-Ma’idah 5:14] And with those who say: “Lo! we are Christians,” We made a covenant, but they forgot a part of that whereof they were admonished. Therefore We have stirred up enmity and hatred among them till the Day of Resurrection, when Allah will inform them of their handiwork.
The same is said of the Jews (Q.10:93). According to Islamic thinking, Mother Theresa will be burning in the Hell while Khomeni and Saddam Hussein will go to heaven because they believed in Allah and his messenger.
Alhamdulillahi. You are doing a good job for enlightening muslims across the world. We know that the non muslims are doing everything possible to destroy our religion. I would like to remind them that Allah gave it as a challenge to man to produce a copy of the Quran like His. The fact is that no one is able and theirs can be detected very fast. The Quran and the Hadith contain references to creation of the world and physical realities that are nothing short of scientific heresies. Despite the efforts of many Muslim apologists who have tried to reinterpret them and find in them some esoteric meaning, their contrast with science and logic belie the claim that Islam is divinely inspired. Take the following example.
Sahih Bukhari Volume 4, Book 54, Number 414
“… He (Muhammad) said, “First of all, there was nothing but Allah, and (then He created His Throne). His throne was over the water, and He wrote everything in the Book (in the Heaven) and created the Heavens and the Earth…”
The claim that Allah’s throne was over waters is mentioned also in the Quran 11.007
“He it is Who created the heavens and the earth in six Days – and His Throne was over the waters.”
Does this make sense? Notice that in the hadith the translator has made a parenthesis, within which he has written, (then He created His Throne). Obviously he too has noticed that if there was nothing, Allah’s throne could not have existed either.
What about the waters? This verse and its supporting hadith imply that waters existed before God created the world. What was holding that water? Doesn’t water need a container? Obviously an earth must exist to hold that water. And can earth exist without the space or the universe that contains it? It appears as if there is chronological error in the order of creation.
According to Muhammad the Earth is flat made in seven layers. There are several quranic verses and hadithes that confirm this.
Q: 18: 86
Until, when he reached the setting of the sun, he found it set in a spring of murky water: Near it he found a People: We said: “O Zul-qarnain! (thou hast authority,) either to punish them, or to treat them with kindness.”
89. Then followed he (another) way,
90. Until, when he came to the rising of the sun, he found it rising on a people for whom We had provided no covering protection against the sun.
It is generally believed that Zul-qaranain is Alexander the Great who, according to the old folks had conquered the world from one end to the other. The truth is that Sun rises and sets in ALL places. One does not have to go ‘another way’ or to the other end of the world to find it rising or setting. It is obvious that Muhammad, like most of his contemporaries believed that the Earth is flat and the Sun moves in the sky rising from one place and setting in another. The following hadith supports this idea.
Sahih Bukhari Volume 4, Book 54, Number 421
Narrated Abu Dhar:
The Prophet asked me at sunset, “Do you know where the sun goes (at the time of sunset)?” I replied, “Allah and His Apostle know better.” He said, “It goes (i.e. travels) till it prostrates Itself underneath the Throne and takes the permission to rise again, and it is permitted and then (a time will come when) it will be about to prostrate itself but its prostration will not be accepted, and it will ask permission to go on its course but it will not be permitted, but it will be ordered to return whence it has come and so it will rise in the west. And that is the interpretation of the Statement of Allah: “And the sun Runs its fixed course for a term (decreed). That is The Decree of (Allah) The Exalted in Might, The All-Knowing.”
These are fairy tales. Sun going beneath the throne of God, prostrating and asking permission to rise the next day? These things are for children stories.
The absurdity does not end there. The Quran 78:6 says,
Have We not made the earth as a bed?
أَلَمْ نَجْعَلِ الْأَرْضَ مِهَادًا
“Bed” is the correct translation of mehad, made by Hilali Khan, Sher Ali and Sale. Palmer and Rodwell have translated it as “couch” and Arberry as “cradle.” Other translators have been vague and have translated it as “expanse.” Clearly they too have noticed that this verse is wrong. Earth does not look like a bed, unless you are a seventh century Arab with no knowledge of the world.
All these verses and hadiths describe a flat Earth, where the Sun rises from one side of it and sets in the murky waters on the opposite side. Is there a Throne somewhere in the sky or “under the earth” for the Sun to stop and ask permission to rise again?
The absurdity of these tales is self-explanatory. Yet Muslims never question them. If it is in the Quran, it must be true even if it is blatantly absurd.
These tales originate from the lore of cultures before Islam. In 1952 Theodor H. Gaster compiled a book titled, The Oldest Stories in the Word. It is a collection of the traditions of the Babylonian, Hittite and Canaanite people of 3500 years ago. These stories were lost and then unearthed in the 20th century. The similarities of those old stories and those in Quran and the Bible are astounding. They prove that the Quran is not a divine book, but a collection of old tales that were part of the legends of Arabs.
In another hadith Muhammad compares the trajectory of the Sun to a bow.
Bukhari, Volume 4, Book 52, Number 51:
Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet said, “A place in Paradise as small as a bow is better than all that on which the sun rises and sets (i.e. all the world).”
It is clear that Muhammad thought the sun forms and arch, like a bow from the time that it rises to the time that it sets.
This is how the movement of the sun appears from the Earth. To the primitive people it appeared that the sun rises from the east and sets in the west forming a bow in the sky.
There is nothing scientific in the Quran. This book was written in seventh century AD, and reflects popular cosmological beliefs characteristic of that period. Muhammad was also an unlettered man. His knowledge of the world was limited to hearsay. Even during his time there were people with better understanding of the cosmos.
Like other people of his time, he thought that the sun and moon orbit the earth
36:38-40 (Asad) And the sun: it runs in an orbit of its own that is laid down by the will of the Almighty, the All-Knowing; and [in] the moon, for which We have determined phases till it becomes like an old date-stalk, dried-up and curved: neither may the sun overtake the moon, nor can the night usurp the time of day, since all of them float through space [in accordance with Our laws.
Any school child can see that this description of the solar system is wrong. The sun and the moon don’t chase each other. What is missing here is the rotation of the earth that is actually what makes the day and night, follow each other. To Muhammad all this was a mystery, a miracle that had been ordained by Allah. He was amazed for the fact that “the sun and the moon are made punctual.” (Q. 55:5) and thought that heaven is a roof covering the earth and that “He created the night and the day, and the sun and the moon, each in an orbit floating,” (Q. 021:032-33).
These errors show that the author of the Quran was not the maker of the universe but a very ignorant man.

Muslims are butchering fellow muslims mainly because of the sunni shite divide. I find it odd that they still have the audacity to scream “Allah Akubar”. In this article I intend to look at “Why the Koran must be True” from the Islamic viewpoint and some of the consequences and conclusions that flow from this position from a more sceptical viewpoint.
Given that this is a lengthy article, I have included summaries to the longer parts (1,2 and 4) of the argument for those who don’t wish to follow the detail of the argument.
Part 1. The transmission of the Koran.
There are many excellent books and articles on the origins and compilation of the Koran. What I intend to do in this section is present a thumb-nail sketch of the process of “how the written Koran came to be” from an orthodox Islamic perspective.
According to Islam the Koran is the literal word of “the god” i.e. Allah. The version we have today is the “Uthmanic recension” compiled by Caliph Uthman about 20 years after Mohammed’s death. To Muslims, this compilation (and its fore-runners) are all perfectly accurate recordings of the ‘revelations’ received by Mohammed during the 23 years of his ‘prophet-hood’.
But let me take you back to the beginning …
‘A’ishah bint Abu Bakr (Mohammed’s favourite and youngest wife) is recorded in the Hadith{1} of Muslim as giving the following narration of that most significant event in the Muhammad’s life as follows:
Muslim Bk 1, Number 0301:
A’isha, the wife of the Apostle of Allah (may peace be upon him), reported: The first (form) with which was started the revelation to the Messenger of Allah was the true vision in sleep. And he did not see any vision but it came like the bright gleam of dawn. Thenceforth solitude became dear to him and he used to seclude himself in the cave of Hira’, where he would engage in worship for a number of nights before returning to his family and getting provisions again for this purpose. He would then return to Khadija and take provisions for a like period, till Truth came upon him while he was in the cave of Hira’. There came to him the angel and said: “Recite [or: read]”{2}, to which he replied: “I am not lettered.” He [the Angel] took hold of me and pressed me, till I was hard pressed; then he let me go and said: “Recite.” I said: I am not lettered. He then again took hold of me and pressed me for the second time till I was hard pressed and then let me go and said: “Recite”, to which I replied: “I am not lettered.” He took hold of me and pressed mefor the third time, till I was hard pressed and then let me go and said: “Recite in the name of your Lord Who created, created man from a clot of blood. Recite. And your most bountiful Lord is He Who taught the use of pen, taught man what he knew not.” (Koran 96:1-4)
Thus the first verses of the Koran that were ‘revealed’ were Sura 96 verses 1-4.{3}
Throughout the ‘revelation’ of the Koran it is the Angel Jibreel (Gabriel) who is assumed to have transmitted Allah’s words to Mohammed{4}, who then recited them back to the Angel to prove he had got it correctly memorised before reciting it to his Sahaba (“companions”) who in turn learnt it and recorded at least some of it{5} in writing.
Thus, to put it in Islamic terms we have the following “chain of narration” (Isnad or Sanad){6}: Allah → Gabriel → Mohammed → The Sahaba → the written Koran.
Let me consider the reliability of each step in the Koran’s Sanad.
What we know about the god of the Koran is contained in the Koran. Islam defines the “ninety nine beautiful names” – the ‘names’ (more accurately attributes) of Allah{7}. Many of these are interesting in their own right, but the ones I wish to consider are: Al-Khaaliq, The Creator; Al-Bari’, The Maker; Al-’Aleem, The All-Knowing; As-Samee’, The All-Hearing; Al-Baseer, The All-Seeing; Al-Khabeer, The Aware and Al-Haqq, The Truth.
Thus the Allah of the Koran is declared to be the aware, all-knowing (seeing, hearing, etc.) creator who is The Truth.
This latter-most is important: Allah isn’t merely “truthful” he is “The Truth”. Therefore the Koran declares that Allah is “100% pure truth” so to speak. Therefore, every word that Allah says MUST be true. Allah cannot tell a lie{8}.
However, merely “not lying” does not give the full picture: If someone tells me that “the earth is flat” and I know no better, then if I tell you the same, it can be argued that I am not lying – as far as I know I am telling the truth and therefore my honesty is not imperilled.
But Allah is also claimed to be the creator (of the whole universe), aware, all knowing etc. then there can be no excuse of ignorance or misinformation (like the fact that the earth orbits the Sun, not vice-versa), what Allah says MUST be true in an absolute sense (i.e. he has no excuses for “getting it wrong”).
Therefore, Islamically speaking, the source of the Koran is the literal Truth, Allah, and the first step in the “Isnad” is quite unimpeachable.
According to the Islamic view Angels are are heavenly beings who have no free will, (unlike humans or jinn) and can do only what God orders them to do. Thus if Allah gives the Angel Jibreel (Gabriel) a revelation to take to Mohammed, Gabriel will do so – flawlessly.
Thus there can be no question of any falsehood or error creeping in here.
Mohammed himself is the next step in our Sanad and so we must assess his character from the Islamic viewpoint.
There are many stories about Mohammed{9} that aim to show his good character, but we need not trouble ourselves, because the Koran itself, the ‘true word of Allah’ settles the matter: “Your companion (Muhammad) has neither gone astray nor has erred. Nor does he speak of (his own) desire. It is nothing but revelation sent down to him.”(53:2-4) neither can Mohammed forget it: “And truly, this (the Quran) is a revelation from the Lord of All, which the trustworthy Angel [Gabriel] has brought down upon your heart (O Muhammad) that you may be (one) of the warners”.{10}
These verses state clearly that what Mohammed is preaching is “revelation” and that Mohammed has not erred in his transmission of said ‘revelation’.
Thus – Islamically speaking – we can rest assured that the Koran, as recited by Mohammed is a completely accurate transmission of the words of Allah as recited to him by Gabriel.
Passing on to the Sahaba.
No-one claims that the Sahaba are more than human. Therefore, at first blush, it seems possible that there could be mistakes made in the transmission or remembering of the ‘words of Allah’{11}. However, once again Allah assures that this did not and indeed could not happen: “Verily, we have sent down the Reminder [the Koran], and, verily, we will guard it.”(13:9). Again: “No falsehood could enter it, in the past or in the future; a revelation from the Most Wise, Praiseworthy [one].” (41:42) Again: “This is an honourable Quran, in a protected book{12}. None can grasp it except the sincere. A revelation from the Lord of the universe.” (K.56:77-80)
Thus we see that the Sahaba also fulfilled their role in the transmission of the Koran perfectly, if only because Allah was guarding this ‘revelation’ and protecting it from any error they might have made.
The final step is the compilation of the written Koran.
Despite many Muslims’ statements to the contrary, the Islamic sources give a confused and colourful picture of this period of the transmission of the Koran. What is generally clear is that since the Muslims were perpetually at war and therefore suffering large numbers of casualties (especially at Yemana) amongst those who knew the Koran best, the fear arose that parts of the Koran would be lost “from men’s minds” unless it was written down. (Islamically speaking, we may see Allah intervening to preserve the Koran by spurring the Muslims to compile it.){13}. This resulted in the compilation under Abu Bakr, which amounted to but a single privately held manuscript that passed from hand-to-hand until the time of Uthman. (As well as this compilation at least one other and perhaps several others in fact existed.) During Uthman’s Caliphate disagreements arose over the recitation (or reading) of the Koran{14} (amongst other things) and so Uthman ordered a new compilation from various existing sources (including the Abu Bakr MSS, other MSS and part MSS) and this became the “offical” version. Uthman ensured that his Koran became the official one by firstly distributing his version (thus it was more than a private copy) and secondly by ordering all other versions burned{15}.
As the final element in this story, I wish to quote the Koran again: K.5:3 states “This day I have perfected your religion for you…”, {16} K.2:2 “This is the Book (the Quran), whereof there is no doubt…”, K.32:2-3 “ The sending down of the Book (Koran), there is no doubting it, from the Lord of all Being. They say ‘He (Muhammad SAW) has fabricated it!’ Not so! It is the truth from your Lord…”
Thus Allah states that the religion of Islam is perfect and that perfection must include the perfection of the Koran which is itself the truth and beyond doubt, Islamically speaking, that is.
Summary of part 1.
From the Islamic perspective:
the transmission of the Koran from Allah to the final (Uthmanic) written Koran is perfectly reliable and as such it can be stated that the Koran is the literal word of Allah, perfect in every detail, unchanged and indeed unchangeable for all time and eternity in it’s original form.
Every word of the Koran MUST be true.{17}
Part 2. The types of verse in the Koran.
The Koran goes to great lengths, with over fifty statements, to state that it is a clear guide with clear and simple commandments and that Mohammed made Allah’s message plain and simple to understand. Such “plain and simple to understand “ verses are called “muhkam” verses.
However, the Koran admits in one verse:
“It is He Who has sent down to you (Muhammad ) the Book. In it are Verses that are entirely clear [or: firm, or:decisive], they are the foundations [or: heart] of the Book and others not entirely clear. So as for those in whose hearts there is a deviation (from the truth) they follow that which is not entirely clear thereof, seeking Al-Fitnah{18}, and seeking for [the Koran’s] hidden meanings, but none knows its hidden meanings save Allah and those who are firmly grounded in knowledge. Say: “We believe in it; the whole of it (clear and unclear Verses) are from our Lord.”(K.3:7){19}
And in one other, the Koran goes further: “Allah has sent down the best statement, a Book (this Quran), its parts resembling each other, oft-repeated. The skins of those who fear their Lord shiver from it. Then their skin and their heart soften to the remembrance of Allah. That is the guidance of Allah. He Guides therewith whom He pleases and whomever Allah sends astray, for him there is no guide.”(K.39:23){20}
The words underlined are in Arabic the single word “muttashabih” which is generally understood to mean both “ambiguous” (including in the senses of allegory, simile and parable) and “similar” (here in the sense of parallel or equivalent verses – “verses … oft repeated”.).
Thus, for example, when Allah says (in the Koran) “Obey Allah and the Messenger” we might regard the verse as “muttashabih”{21} since it does not tell us who the “Messenger” is, therefore the verse isn’t entirely clear. However, as any Muslim will tell you, “the Messenger” is none other than Mohammed. With this bit of understanding we can definitively ascribe a meaning to it. (This is a somewhat trivial example, but I hope it makes the point.) On the other hand K.33:40 “Muhammad is not the father of any man among you, but he is the Messenger of Allah and the last of the Prophets…” is “muhkam” since the verse is completely unambiguous as to whom it refers and as to what (it claims) he is{22}.
The Koran says that the clear verses are the foundation, heart or core of the Koran, whereas ambiguous verses are misleading to those who lack understanding and lead them astray from the ‘Truth of Islam’. Thus the Koran hints very strongly that a good but unlearned Muslim should follow the clear verses and not worry over much about the ambiguous ones (ones he does not understand). Implicit is that clear verses cannot be “overruled” by ambiguous ones{23}.
In turn this means that we must take what the Koran says in clear language to mean what it says. The clear verses hide no other meanings – they are clear – and it is these verses that form the core of Islamic belief.
The last point to be drawn out here is that the “muttashaabih” verses can be understood by “those who are firmly grounded in knowledge” (K.3:7) and it is for the exegesis of such verses that the ‘science’ of Tafseer (interpretation/commentary) was born.{24}
Summary of Part 2.
Not all verses of the Koran are easy to understand, some are ambiguous, some have pertinent details missing.
The good news is that the unambiguous verses are the “heart of the Koran” and (since the Koran is truth itself) such verses mean what they say.{25}
Part 3. The consequences for Muslims.
The above means the Koran must be inerrant. That is, it must contain no errors whatsoever. If the Koran contains a single factual error, then the Koran falsifies itself and thus cannot be from a god who is “all-knowing” (al-Alim). (That said, it is important to make sure that Muhkam verses are used to demonstrate an error, a muttashabih verse won’t do, since it is open to multiple interpretations anyway){26}.
Therefore Muslims must and will strive to show that all the verses of the Koran are compatible with fact. Muslims regard this doctrine – the Koran as being Allah’s literal word as a great strength in their religion, but it is a brittle strength as the above shows.
An Islamist{27} must accept the doctrine of Abrogation since it is in the Koran. It is simply not according to the Koran to deny this doctrine – in principle at least{28}.
Since the Koran itself tells Muslims to “obey the Messenger/Prophet” about fifty times then an Islamist can’t be a “Quranite” (Koran only) Muslim. Such Muslims deny the importance of Mohammed’s teaching{29}, disobey the Koran and effectively disobey Allah as well {30}. Therefore such Muslims are “hypocrites” according to the Koran – we might also refer to them as “pick-n-mix” Muslims since they just pick out the bits they want to follow/believe and ignore those they don’t.
Only those who are “firmly grounded in faith” as the Koran puts it and have spent a lot of time (often a lifetime) should be entrusted to interpret the muttashabih verses{31} which can lead people astray from ‘the Truth’ of the Koran{19}.
Part 4: On the horns of many dilemmas.
(1) To Muhkam or not to Muhkam: that is the question{32}.
The absolute requirement that the Koran be “perfect” means that Islam utterly rejects any attempts at a critique of the text by any critical method that would be accepted in the wider world and indeed many Muslim writers disparage non-Muslim critics for a “lack of knowledge” (to be fair this is sometimes justified), but it is also an easy option and an ad hominem attack.
Often such “counter-criticism” revolves around the notion that the critic has a poor or non-existent understanding of Arabic (like yours truly) and thus “doesn’t understand what the Koran means”.
But all that means is that the “counter-critic” is saying “the Koran is untranslatable and can’t be understood by non-Arabic speakers.” Since there are a plethora of translations in almost all languages and most such translations are done by Muslims who speak both Arabic and the language of translation this is a hard argument to sustain, especially when the Koran says that the heart of its message is unambiguous, clear and simple to understand, if that is so the muhkam verses must be translatable. To be sure, muttashaabih verses may be “untranslatable” in the sense that it may be hard to translate all the meanings, but this cannot apply to muhkam verses because the Koran says they are clear, thus the Koran itself denies this argument.
Thus those who make this argument are falsifying the Koran by their argument.
(2) Now is the Koran of our discontent turned to glorious Tafseer.
A second counter-criticism is basically: “you have use the Tafseers (or Hadith/Sunnah) to understand the Koran verses.” But this just approaches the same dilemma from a different direction: why does a book who’s message is “clear and simple” need every verse (including, therefore Muhkam verses) “explained”? Further, many Koran translations use the most famous Tafseers{33} in the task of ensuring accurate translation.
Since the study of all these sources would be a lifetime’s work in itself, this is really a way of saying “no one except the experts [whoever they are] can understand the Koran.” Again this argument falsifies the Koran which tells us it’s “core message” is clear. This is also an odd statement from the point of view that Islam prides itself on being a religion in which there are no intermediaries between god and man – yet this approach generates exactly that: if you can’t really understand the Koran without a life-time of study, then only those who spend their lives in Theological study can understand and interpret it, thus we have a Priesthood in all but name and hence we place an intermediary between man and god – contrary to Islamic teaching. This would be tantamount to Shirk{34} in fact.
(3) Of God and Men.
If the Koran is the literal word of god, then it must contain within it nothing “man-made”. Much is made by some critical writers of the fact that the Koran contains stories that are derivative from other religious sources (most commonly the Bible) but this is a weak argument since Islam’s response is that the Koran “corrects” those earlier versions. Whilst many might look askance at this given the frequently debased nature of the Koran’s versions, it is a tenable position since the Koran regards itself as god’s final revelation and as such part of it’s “job” would be to correct earlier ‘errors’. Indeed the Koran claims that the earlier scriptures (the Bible) have become corrupted, hence the Koran’s “corrective” ‘mission’.
However, when the source is something that is demonstrably purely human in origin then this position is untenable. Consider the following:
Therefore the man was created singly, to teach that he who destroys one soul of a human being, the Scripture considers him as if he should destroy a whole world, and him who saves one soul of Israel, the Scripture considers him as if he should save a whole world. (Jewish Mishna Sanhedrin 4:5)
Because of that We ordained for the Children of Israel that if anyone killed a person not in retaliation of murder, or (and) to spread mischief in the land – it would be as if he killed all mankind, and if anyone saved a life, it would be as if he saved the life of all mankind. (Koran 5:32)
Excepting the Koranic substitutions and glosses{35} the two are (virtually) identical. What is of note here is that the Koran verse says that god ordained (or prescribed, or decreed) this for Israel. This language in the Koran defines revealed “orders” i.e. Allah’s commands. The Mishna is understood by Orthodox Jews to be inspired words; that is they are not G-d’s very words, but man’s albeit expressing a religious truth, often expanding on a subject within the Torah. So how can something written by men – a “Tafseer” on the Torah in fact – be the literal word of god?
(4) Malice through the looking glass.
In the looking-glass world, left is right and right is wrong.
The Koran teaches that Muslims must “obey the prophet” and that to do so “is to obey Allah”{30}. Islam has always understood this to mean not just Mohammed’s words, but his actions also. In modern Western societies a number of Mohammed’s actions are considered criminal as well as immoral{36}.
Thus either Muslims must defend these actions since “to obey Mohammed is to obey Allah” and therefore these actions must be of Allah, which means that Muslims are left in the unenviable position of arguing that some immoral/illegal acts are right and proper, disparaging “mere man made laws” -which criminalise these actions- whilst insisting that the Shari’ah Law which supports them is “god-given” and thus ‘superior’; or else they must accept that Mohammed is a man of his times – not the eternal exemplar for humanity, the “Ihsan Kamel” of Islam – which rejects what the Islamic literature, including the Koran, says about Mohammed {37}.
Both “defences” can be found within Muslim literature, sometimes in the same piece.
(5) Logic, Logic, for where art thou, Logic?
I have already shown how Muslims are forced into some illogical positions (such as defending Mohammed’s immorality in various ways, or accepting as “from god” verses that are clearly human-authored), but I wish to pass on to a couple of specific examples of logical problems with the Koran text or illogical responses to such problems.
The “Satanic verses” in the Koran(53:19-22). Here Mohammed receives a ‘revelation’ that was acclaimed by the Quraish since it honoured their Goddesses (at the time Mo was seeking a rapprochement), but his own followers were made unhappy so these verses were declared “satanic” by Allah, who rebuked Mohammed: K.17-73: “Indeed they were near to seducing thee from that We revealed to thee, that thou might forge against Us another, and then they [the Quraish] would surely have taken thee as a friend.”
Naturally enough, some people queried this volte-face, but up pops Allah to “resolve” this problem too: K.22:52-53. “Never did We send a Messenger or a Prophet before you, but; when he did recite the revelation or narrated or spoke, Shaitan (Satan) threw (some falsehood) in it. But Allah abolishes that which Shaitan throws in. Then Allah establishes His Revelations. And Allah is All-Knower, All-Wise. That He (Allah) may make what is thrown in by Shaitan a trial for those in whose hearts is a disease and whose hearts are hardened. And certainly, the Zalimoon are in an opposition far-off.”{38}{39}
So we learn that this is something that “always” happens to Allah’s messengers{40} and that Allah will sort it out and use it as a trial for unbelievers{41}.
Thus it would seem that Muslims were and are content to accept that satanic verses could be insinuated into Allah’s word – the Qur’an, that Allah could “abolish” said satanic verses, and that Allah could replace a verse of his own revelation with a similar or better verse{see note 10}. You may recall that I earlier pointed out K.41:42. “No falsehood could enter it [the Koran], in the past or in the future; a revelation from the Most Wise, Praiseworthy [one].” Quite how Muslims can truly square this with Satan getting his words into the Koran, even temporarily, I can’t say{42}.
But there is another problem: if Mohammed could not tell that it was Satan, not Gabriel, who was speaking to him, Mohammed cannot differentiate between true revelation and satanic verses, so how do we know that Satan did not manage the same “trick” on other occasions? Certainly, the Koran tells us that Allah “guards” it etc., but the Koran is already compromised as a source since Satan managed the “trick” on at least one occasion that we know about since he was “found out”. As a second point here, it shows that Allah wasn’t that good at “guarding” the revelation if Satan could get by his guard – even temporarily{43}.
The shape of the earth. I’m not going to restate the “flat earth” arguments nor their (attempted) rebuttals. Both these are very well known and it is up to each individual to decide on which side of the argument they wish to come down{44}.
Rather I wish to consider the really illogical “the Koran says the earth is egg-shaped” argument. This is based on Sura 79:30 “Wal’arda ba’da dhalika dahaha”{45} which some modern apologists (e.g. Dr. Zakir Naik) have translated as “and He made the earth egg-shaped.” On the basis of this, these same apologists say this shows that the Koran says the earth is a sphere, not flat. Neither am I interested in the argument about the meaning of “dahaha” and it’s roots which Modern Muslims have curiously translated as “egg-shaped” or “shaped like an ostrich egg”. Instead I will simply assume that this is true{46}.
For the record let me state the fact that, yes, the earth is slightly oblate but it is spherical to within 0.4%. To give a context: the earth is more spherical (in gross terms) than a billiard ball.
Sadly for Dr. Naik et al, whilst the earth is a (marginally) oblate spheroid an egg is a markedly prolate and asymmetric spheroid. Simply: an oblate spheroid is bigger “around the middle” (equator – which is always a circle by definition) whereas a prolate one is bigger “north to south”. Thus even if we were to accept the apologists’ argument the shape of the world in the Koran is still completely wrong. (In fact physics makes such an earth-sized world-shape as impossible as a disc-world in our universe.)
Thus to counter the “flat earth” charge, some Muslims have adopted an apologetic stance that merely replaces one error with another and this latter is worse in that it’s linguistic basis is weak to say the least and requires substantial meaning being read into the text itself.
(6) Hubble, bubble, strife and trouble.
Samuel P. Huntingdon made his famous statement “Islam’s borders are bloody and so are its innards” in 1998. Whilst I am sure that there are some who would deride this as “Islamophobic”, “bigoted” and “racist”; the sad truth is that this is an accurate observation. In the ten and a half years since 9/11 (at the time of writing) -call that 4000 days- there have nearly 19,000 Islamic terror attacks resulting in death and/or serious injury.
Simple maths tells us that means that on average there have been more than four such attacks each and every day in which devout Muslims kill and maim “for the sake of Allah”. Most of these attacks take place (ironically perhaps) within the Dar-ul-Islam. We in the Dar-ul-Harb{47} are far better protected against such attacks since we have effective and efficient security services that thwart such attacks in the planning stages most of the time{48}. Yet despite this we are constantly told that Islam is “the religion of peace”.
Thus the dilemma is that Muslims kill each other (as well as us) in terrorist attacks carried out in the name of Allah by people quite convinced they are doing the will of Allah, yet Islam is purported to be “the religion of peace”.
Let me state quite clearly that I do not, for one instant, believe or infer that all Muslims are violent. Far from it: a majority of Muslims clearly live quiet peaceful and peaceable lives. But this does not negate the fact that pious Islamic terrorists (and I use the phrase deliberately even though I know it offends some Muslims) carry out their terrorist attacks in the name of Allah and for the sake of Allah, quite convinced (by Islamic teaching) that they are engaged in legitimate sword-jihad against the enemies of Islam (even if they are their brother Muslims!). No other religion on Earth today behaves in this way to both it’s own and the “other”.
Apologists use various approaches to ‘resolve’ this dilemma:
(1) the “Islam has been hijacked!” approach (Irshad Manji is particularly scathing about this) which tries to cast the Islamic terrorist as a non-Muslim, which is ironic since this is “Takfir”{49} which is highly frowned upon within Shari’ah and these self-same Islamic terrorists to a man (or woman) believe they are doing Allah’s will in killing. A problem with this approach, apart from it’s ‘legal’ difficulties within Shari’ah, is that it is a cop-out as well as being dis-ingenuous (to be polite). It is a cop-out since it instantly absolves Islam of any responsibility and it is dis-ingenuous since it simply ignores the violent verses of the Koran.
(2) The “Islam has been misunderstood!” argument. This is the same argument that is applied to non-Muslim critics of course (which is a little ironic), but here the idea is that the violent Muslims haven’t understood the Koran. This argument is, in essence, a modification of the first and the same counter-arguments apply – except that here the apologist would have us believe that somehow early peaceful verses abrogate later violent ones in contravention to the principles of abrogation.
(3) The “Don’t look at what Muslims do, look at the scriptures.” approach. This is usually followed with an appeal to the “peaceful” verses of the Koran{50}. This approach has several problems: firstly many of these peaceful verses are abrogated by later verses which contradict them. Let me remind you that abrogation itself is controversial in Islam which simply adds another layer of controversy. Second: If Muslims are supposed to actually follow Islam (as the Koran commands over 50 times!) then shouldn’t the actions and acts of Muslims, particularly those carried out in the name of it’s god, reflect it’s teaching? Third: this argument implies that there aren’t many (or any) “true Muslims” in the world and from this it follows that Islam has failed as a religion since it’s ‘followers’ don’t follow it{51}.
(4) The “Don’t look at the Scriptures, lookit the peaceful Muslims!” approach. Often when Islam critics point out the violent verses of the Koran counter-critics will respond by pointing out (rightly) that most Muslims are not violent and therefore (here comes the leap-to-conclusion) so must Islam be. Again, it is really a variant on approach 1, with all the same problems{52}.
(5) The “Muslims only fight defensively!” line. This version of apologia sets out a series of premises, assertions or (occasionally) arguments by which it is alleged that “the West” is at war with, or has attacked “Islam” and/or is “oppressing Islam”. Therefore, terror attacks are a defensive response to this “aggression” and that if the West only stopped it’s aggression and/or oppression then all would be peace{53}.
The astute reader will have realised that all the arguments (except the last) I’ve outlined above are mutually contradictory, based on circular reasoning (one of the arguments above can easily lead to another), tendentious in that they simply ignore contrary evidence or eisegetic in nature.
The crux of the dilemma for Muslim apologists is this: why, if Islam is peaceful is it so violent? This violence is not only present today, it has been a feature of Islam throughout it’s history, even when Islam was the dominant power, which rather undermines #5 also.{54} Thus none of the above arguments really provide an answer, rather they evade the question.
(7) The Trouble with Science.
One of the most curious aspects of the “Koran inerrancy” position is how Muslims have responded to modern science. This position is ‘augmented’ by verses such as 17: 12. “… And We have explained everything (in detail) with full explanation….” (see also 7:52, 11:1 and 17:89) which seems to lead some Muslims to believe that the Koran contains all possible knowledge (or at least all useful knowledge) in the Universe (this view was also held by the earliest Muslims).
In this arena there seem to be two strands of polemical approach, though as usual the same Muslim writer often employs both consecutively.
The “The Koran knew that!” argument. In this argument the science is taken as true and the Koran text (and the root-meanings of it’s words{55}) searched until something is found that can be taken (and often twisted) to match the science. (The example of the “egg-shaped” earth is a case in point.) Proponents of this approach usually attempt to show that the Koran exactly matches the current science (e.g. the embryology ‘debate’). This has the obvious weakness that if the science changes, this falsifies the ‘revelation’ the polemicist has ‘discovered’. Polemicists aware of this problem often switch to …
The “It’s only a Theory!” argument. In this argument the science (e.g. evolution) is dismissed as being just a (false) theory (which misunderstands the nature of scientific theory against that of hypothesis) and the Koran held up as the “ultimate truth” which “proper science” will validate in time.
Of the two, which are mutually contradictory of course, I think that the second has slightly more intellectual honesty attendant upon it in that it is at least consistent with a belief-set. The former approach simply begs the question “why, if this was in the Koran didn’t a Muslims spot this before Western science made the discovery?” To which no satisfactory answer is ever forthcoming as well as being inherently fluid and changeable – today’s ‘scientific revelation’ becomes tomorrow’s ‘interpretive mistake’.
Summary of part 4.
Muslims face a number of dilemmas consequent on their insistence that the Koran text be inerrant which are exacerbated by the doctrine that the Koran contains “all truth”. Apologetic attempts to resolve these dilemmas are often mutually contradictory and logically flawed. Many also seem weak, or even perverse, to non-Muslims who are used to a more rationalistic basis for argument than “the Koran says xxxx so it must be true” which then compels attempts to justify a position on that basis rather than any logical/rational system. Some such attempts merely replace one error with another and others require meaning to be “read into” the text in a retro-active way to show that a modern explanation was already present “within” the Koran text.
An approach common in dealing with controversy between the Koran and modern science is to dismiss modern science on the basis that it’s “only a theory” and hold that the Koranic understanding will be validated in time by “proper science”.
Conclusions.
Islam teaches that one of it’s strengths is that the Koran is (purportedly) the literal word of god. The main consequence of this, given the formulation of the nature of god within Islam, is that the Koran must be inerrant. This makes this strength a brittle one in that if one single error is found in the Koran then the Koran falsifies itself.
Muslims must (attempt to) preserve the ‘truth’ of the Koran against all criticism, even if this means that they are forced into moral or exegetical positions that are difficult or even impossible to logically or rationally sustain, which is why so often Muslims find themselves impaled on the horns of moral or rational versus belief dilemmas{56}.
Examination of many of the apologetic methods used to “resolve” dilemmas and perceived “problems” with the text shows that they are either mutually contradictory, dismissive or eisegetic in nature.
The dis-regard for history, logic and consistency in handling the Koran text often makes the arguments of apologists seem hagiographic at best and risible at worst to non-Muslims (how Muslims view them I couldn’t say), being based on a series of a priori assumptions that often do not comport with the real world.

The Hadith, or Ahadith are collections of “the sayings of Mohammed”. The pre-eminent collections are those of Bukhari and Muslim. As well as the sayings of Mohammed the Hadith also include records of many of his actions such as washing, bathing, praying etc. and in addition they further contain some sayings (not many as a proportion) ascribed to Mohammed’s “Sahaba” (that is “companions”). Thus the description of the Hadith as “Mohammed’s sayings” is somewhat inaccurate – or at least incomplete. [return]
There is considerable debate within Muslim circles as to whether or not Mohammed was illiterate. That argument is well beyond the scope of this article, but my own preference on the balance of such argument is that Mohammed was told to “recite” (since he himself did not write the Koran down) and his response was, in effect, “I’m not a man of letters”. This fits with the fact that pre-Islamic Arab society apotheosised Poets and thus a man who was not a poet would consider himself “unlettered” in the sense that he was not well-educated in poetic composition – indeed part of Mohammed’s fear may have been of the reception of what he had to “recite” by a highly critical Arab audience. Alternatively, he may have meant that he was not “good” at reading and writing – hence his use of scribes to record the ‘revelations’. Either way, on balance I think that the evidence points to Mohammed not being illiterate as such, but literate to a low standard. [return]
Note that Sura (“chapter”) 96 has a total of 19 verses. Thus Mohammed’s first ‘revelation’ was but part of a single Sura. [return]
Although the Islamic narrative is that is was Jibreel (Gabriel) who gave Mohammed the revelations see K.81:19, this is problematic due to the “satanic verses” that were revealed to Mohammed. In this case at least we have to assume that Mohammed did not realise that Satan was reciting verses to him, not Gabriel – which is suspicious to say the least.[return]
Some Muslim sources insist that the whole Koran was written down in Mohammed’s time. However, this flies in the face of the fact (recorded in the Hadith) that the prime reason that Abu Bakr compiled the Koran was due to the fear that parts of it were (at risk of) being lost as members of the Sahaba died in battle. This worry would simply never have arisen if the Koran was already known to be compiled in written form. Further other Hadith refer to various “lost” verses (e.g.”the verse of stoning” with reference to stoning adulterers to death), this again shows that the Koran was not compiled in Mohammed’s lifetime. The “chain of narration” is a vital part of Hadith classification. A Hadith can only begin to be considered as “sound” (Sunan) or “true” (Sahih) if it’s Sanad is unimpeachable. [return]
Islamic mythology says that there are 100 names, the hundredth of which is known only to the Camel – hence it’s superior expression. This idea of other names is supported in that if you compare various compilers’ lists of the “beautiful names” you will find that they (sometimes) differ. Put another way, Muslims can’t fully agree on what “beautiful names” actually belong to Allah and which ones don’t – for whatever reason. [return]
I’m deliberately overlooking those verses that refer to Allah being the best deceiver (or in other translations: schemer, plotter, deviser, planner). These words are derived from “mkr” which means deceit. On this point apologetics usually follows the line exemplified here: IslamQ&A says “Plotting against, betraying and mocking the enemy are attributes of perfection [and thus belong to Allah], because that is indicative of complete knowledge, power and might, and so on….plotting in the right circumstances may be something praiseworthy that points to the strength of the plotter, and that he is superior to his enemy.” Thus IslamQ&A admits that Allah is a deceiver, but “spins” this to try to make it a positive attribute. One is led to wonder how Islam Q&A would consider non-Muslims (or their Deities) deceiving Muslims. Would that be equally positive? [return]
For example: how Mohammed’s heart was “cleansed” – not once but twice, or how he gained and maintained the reputation for honesty and integrity. So say the Islamic sources. [return]
Quite how this squares with the Doctrine of Abrogation I could not say: 2:106 “We do not abrogate any of Our verses (of the Qur’an) or cause it to be forgotten except that We substitute it with something better or similar; don’t you know that Allah has full power over everything?”, 13:39 “Allah doth blot out or confirm what He pleaseth: with Him is the Mother [or essence/basis] of the Book.” and 16:101 “And when We change a Verse in place of another (and Allah knows the best of what He sends down) they [the non-believers] say: ‘You [Mohammed] are but a Muftari! [forger, liar].’ Nay, but most of them know not.” A hadith records: “Abdullah bin Masud said “Muhammad taught me a verse and I got it by heart and wrote it in my book. When I returned to my place I could not remember anything of it. Next morning when I opened my book, I found the page, on which it was written, white. I reported the matter to Muhammad. He said to me. “O Ibn Masud that verse has been taken up (back to God) yesterday.”” [return]
Ironically, the Hadith give us evidence that precisely this happened and on occasion with Mohammed’s approval. For instance: from the book Usûd Ulghâbah fi Ma’rifat Is-Sahâbah by Ibn al-Athîr, in the entry concerning Abdullâh Ibn Sâd Ibn Abî Sarh we find the following: “He converted to Islam before the conquest of Mecca and immigrated to the Prophet [i.e. in Medina]. He used to record the revelation for the Prophet before he apostatized and went back to Mecca. Then he told Quraysh: ‘I used to orient Muhammad wherever I willed, he dictated to me “All-Powerful All-Wise” and I suggest “All Knowing All-Wise” so he would say: “Yes, it is all the same.” Here we see Mohammed agreeing to changes in Allah’s words and it was that which caused Sarh to apostatise since he felt that if Mohammed’s ‘revelation’ truly was from God, then it should be unchangeable (curiously, the Muslim position on this issue!). This account is disputed on the grounds of the times of Sarh’s conversion to Islam being after the revelation of the verse. But this does not negate the point because, according to tradition, Mohammed used to repeatedly recite the Koran so Sahr may have written it down at a later (private) recitation. [return]
This is a reference to the Koran being preserved in heaven (85:21-22) and/or a reference to the Koran’s preservation on Earth. [return]
I suppose it would be churlish of me to point out that had the Muslims not embarked on serial and parallel wars of conquest, they could have accomplished this at their leisure. [return]
It is important to remember that during this period written Arabic was a defective script, without vowel pointing or diacritical marks. This meant that words themselves were often ambiguous, requiring the use of context to sort them out. Muslims will tell you that the argument was about dialect, but this doesn’t make much sense because, around that time, there were seven “accepted” modes of recitation (i.e. seven “dialects” were accommodated), hence we may deduce that, as one author puts it, the dispute was about the reading (i.e. the words themselves) of the Koran. Given the defective nature of Arabic, this makes sense. Can you puzzle out this sentence, done 7th century Arabic style? “Nd th prpht sd “Sd ths fr a lk, ts scrpt is prblm, hw t tll dffrnc btwn ft nd ft!” Up to “ft nd ft” probably, but think how many words are circumscribed by “ft”. But Uthman’s Koran didn’t solve this problem (the script was defective!), so in fact there must have been differences in the consonants as well. Thus “allah’s words” differed between the collections (this is not necessarily to say that the meanings were different – one may substitute different words with the same (or similar) meaning) though given the problems of the script it is pretty much inevitable that actual changes in meaning occurred. Of course, the Muslim response would be that Allah guided Zaid ibn Thabit (the actual compiler of Uthman’s Koran) and made sure he got it right… [return]
Given that Uthman started the practice of Koran-burning, one is forced to wonder why Muslims find it so objectionable. That said, it should be remembered that Uthman (like Umar before him and Ali after him) was murdered by Muslims. Uthman did not even receive a Muslim burial, being buried, unwashed, in a Jewish cemetery. [return]
This verse (K.5:3) which Muslims often quote to show that Islam is the “perfect religion” actually falsifies itself (and thus the Koran). It states that “…This day I have perfected your religion…”. Sura 5 is a late Medinan Sura, but it is not the last Sura revealed during Mohammed’s life (so one might ask “why does the now perfect need additions?”), nor does it take account of the differences that crept into the Koran text prior to Uthman’s recension which re-standardised the text. Thus Allah says something in this verse that simply cannot be true at the time of revelation. [return]
As the observant reader will be aware the arguments I have presented depend on a priori “reasoning”. I remind the reader I am arguing from the Islamic perspective and ultimately a lot of such “Islamic arguments” boil down to “the Koran says xxxx, so it must be true”. [return]
“Fitnah” is sometimes translated as “mischief”or “discord”. But in reality it’s breadth is greater in that it encompasses a range of actions that “disturb the peace” of the Umma from outright treason to criticising Islam. In particular “fitnah” is often associated with “Shirk” – the association of others with Allah (or the replacement of Allah by another). From shirk we get “Mushrik” – an “associator”, ultimately one of the labels bestowed on all non-Muslims by the Koran. [return]
This is a curious statement in that Allah is implying that these “ambiguous” verses are in the Koran to lead people astray. Muslims will riposte that those are “people with diseased hearts”, true; but isn’t it the job of God and His Prophets to guide people to “The Truth”? Secondly, how do you square Allah as “The Truth” with this somewhat deceptive practice? And third, if people are “diseased” spiritually should they not be succoured rather than suckered? Thus the Koran can’t decide if it is “clear verses”, a mix or all “ambiguous” verses. See also note 17. [return]
To be fussy, it’s “Mutashabih-ijmal” – a general statement without mentioning the necessary specific details (in this case, who the messenger is). The second type is “al-Ishtirak al-Lafdhi” which is where a word (or verse) has two (or more) meanings, either/or in the literal sense or in the sense of a literal meaning and a simile/parable etc. meaning. Sometimes the ambiguity comes about as a result of where you put the punctuation. Ironically, this is neatly demonstrated in K.3:7 where, if we punctuate as I have (which is the logical way given the arabic “wa” = “and”) we get “… hidden meanings save Allah and those who are firmly grounded in knowledge. Say…”; but some translations punctuate is as: … hidden meanings save Allah. And those who are firmly grounded in knowledge say…” which substantially changes the meaning. (This latter punctuation is inconsistent since the Koran contains many commands to Mohammed to “Say…”, so it’s use is theologically, not textually driven.) [return]
As might be expected, the determination of Muhkam and Mutashabih verses is a ‘science’ in itself that is hotly contested within Islam, with different and contradictory views being held. [return]
In practice (most) Islamic scholars acknowledge three kinds of verses: (1)-“Muhkam Ayah”, Unambiguous ( “clear”) or “perfected” verses; (2)-“Mutashabih Ayah”, Verses that can have many meanings, or are similes or parables and (3)-abrogated verses (notwithstanding the purported “perfection” of the Koran). Some Islamic Authorities state that the Koran is completely “Muhkam”, claiming that “Mutashabih” verses are similar / parallel to other verses and that abrogation does not exist. This is not entirely untenable since there is much repetition within the Koran (parallel verses or similar) and abrogated verses can usually be re-interpreted according to other verses, but it is a weak position in that it ignores (or disagrees with) verses of the Koran that state that abrogation occurred and the fact that “the verse of stoning” isn’t in the Koran, though the law it brings in is upheld in Shari’ah, thus the effect of the verse remains. One of the ironies of Islam is that the Koran which claims clarity of message for itself spawned such a massive industry in “Tafseers” and interpretation. A further irony is that no interpreter will claim to know the correct interpretation: they always conclude with “and Allah knows best”. Whilst this may be just a pietistic phrase, one can’t help but wonder if they really mean “well, this is what I/we think, but god alone knows what it really means”. So much for “clear guidance”! I should add a caveat here. For instance K.3:26 speaks of Allah’s hand: “In Your Hand is the good.” There is nothing ambiguous in the language here. However, Islamic Theology would generally deny that Allah has “hands” in the human sense (Salafi scholars might disagree), therefore, although the sentence is “muhkam” linguistically, the meaning of “hands” is either allegorical or esoteric, thus it’s meaning could be termed “muttashabih” since Allah does not tell us what his “hands” are like. This points up the sort of difficulties that arise in deciding what is “muhkam” and what is “muttashabih”, never mind what the “muttashabih” verse/words mean. [return]
I’m sure we can all think of many errors in the Koran, but listing them falls outside the purview of this article. However, the point here is that since Muhkam verses mean what they say, you can’t “explain them away” through apologetic gymnasticism. To do so means that you are tampering with the “heart of the book” in a most egregious way and so such gymnastics are most un-Islamic. [return]
I use this term to mean “a Muslim who believes (and seeks to impliment) what his/her scriptures say and teach”. [return]
One may – and Muslims do – argue about what verses are abrogated and which are abrogating etc., but the principle cannot be denied. Inevitably, abrogation is a moderately complex issue, however for our purposes it is sufficient to note that, in general, when two verses conflict the new(er) verse abrogates the old(er). Of course, this merely opens another can of worms, since the Koran isn’t arranged chronologically, but (roughly) according to length of Sura and (just to make matters worse) it has been shown that in some of the longer Suras, different verses (probably) date to different times. Thus “just” working out which are the newer and older verses relatively speaking is a somewhat speculative process. [return]
I realise that this reads oddly given the near-deification accorded to Mohammed and the extreme violence with which so many Muslims react to an ‘insult’ to Mohammed. But perhaps it is those Muslims who don’t react this way who aren’t “real Muslims”- i.e. Islamists at all. [return]

The substitution of the word “mankind” for “world” and “life” for “soul”. The Koranic “mischief” part seems to be a gloss inserted to make it possible to excuse the killing of people for a variety of reasons covered by “mischief” [fitnah] which basically means anything that upsets the tranquillity of the Muslims. Also: Some Muslim writers attempt to argue that since the Koran “universalises” the Mishna – by omitting the two words “from Israel” that makes it an “original” statement. However, to do so ignores the start of the Koran verse: “ordained for the children of Israel” which shows this Koran verse is specific to the Jews. [return]
Examples would include multiple wives, sex with minors and slave trading to name but three. [return]
To be fair I should point out 35:45 (Hilali-Khan): “And if Allah were to punish men for that which they earned, He would not leave a moving (living) creature on the surface of the earth, but He gives them respite to an appointed term, and when their term comes, then verily, Allah is Ever All-Seer of His slaves.” (See also 16:16) This vaguely threatening verse states that all men – thus including Mohammed – deserve death. The “respite” mentioned means that Allah “holds off his hand” (so to speak) until either death or judgement day, what happens then, note, is not mentioned here! [return]
These verses fall in Sura 53. The original text (53:19-22) reads: “Have ye thought upon al-Lat and al-Uzza And Manat, the third, the other? These are the gharanaq (intermediaries)
Whose intercession is to be hoped for.” After Gabriel “corrected” the text it reads: “Have ye thought upon al-Lat and al-Uzza and Manat, the third, the other. Are yours the males and His the females? That indeed were an unfair division!” Thus making a “joke” out of the idea of goddesses. [return]
The “Satanic verses” in Sura 53 were ‘revealed’ in Mohammed’s fifth year of ministry in Mecca, 618 A.D., Allah’s rebuke (Sura 17) in 621 A.D. in Mecca, but Allah’s “explanation” comes in Sura 22 ‘revealed’ in Medina (more precisely those verses after v.40 are generally considered “Medinan”) in 623 A.D. Thus these verses apparently span five years with two year gaps between the parts. This is highly unlikely and consequently what we most likely have here is evidence of verses all dating from ~618 appearing in Suras up to five years later, thus demonstrating the chronological dis-arrangement of the Koran-text not merely Sura-by-Sura, but also within Suras. This makes any dating of verses within Suras (except, perhaps, for short mono-themed Suras) a speculative enterprise. Somewhat simply: What is normally done is to try to associate verses within a Sura with known historical events (thus providing a date) and to assume that all the verses in a Sura were ‘revealed’ at (approximately) the same time. As the above shows, this is not necessarily justified and all that can really be done with any certainty is to date various passages within Suras. [return]
This is an odd (though not perhaps unexpected) statement. Elsewhere in the Koran “Allah’s messengers” are primarily identified as the Biblical prophets. Needless to say, such an event (Satan inserting his words for God’s) is not recorded in the Bible. [return]
The irony here is that the “Satanic verses” were (initially) more of a trial for Mohammed’s followers who basically asked “what’s the point of this Islam if we still have to believe in the Meccan Goddesses?” Once the change occurs, then the shift from conciliation to insult (and a “yah-boo” one at that) does become a “trial” for the Quraish who were upset by Mohammed’s recidivism. An alternative translation of this verse is “…from before it or behind it…” This version is understood to mean “before” = previous revelations and “behind” = later revelations. The problem with this interpretation is that Islam denies that there are any later revelations which makes something of a nonsense of the verse. To be fair I should add that some exegetes refer to the “period of revelation” as being neither “before” nor “after” the Koran – thus implicitly saying that the Koran text was fluid during the period of ‘revelation’ (and, presumably, up to the Uthmanic recension). The “dar-ul-Islam” literally means “the house of Islam” thus “Islamic world”. “Dar-ul-Harb” literally means “house of war”. Since the “house of war” is not the Islamic world, we may render this as “non-Islamic world”. [return]

I should add that there is one argument that does resolve this dilemma, but it is one that you will hardly ever hear spoken of in the West. Islam is (supposed to be) at peace when it controls a region and it regards war – in all its manifestations – as a legitimate tool to achieving this goal. Thus, by this rationale, a suicide bomber jihadi can be a “seeker after peace” if his/her actions promote (at least in his/her own mind) the goal of Islamic control. Thus we find an Orwellian “war is peace” type of attitude. This is partially undermined by the violence within the Dar-ul-Islam; but here sectarianism is usually to blame in that the various groups believe that only their version of Islam is the “real Islam” and until everybody is under it’s sway the struggle must continue. This is usually combined with Takfir against their opponents (declaring or considering them as “non-Muslim” in some way). [return]
Arabic starts out as tri-consonantal groupings. To these are added prefixes, suffixes and a variety of vowelisations in order to change the meanings of the word. Thus “SLM” for instance gives us “SaLaaM” (peace),“iSLaM” (submission), “muSLiM” (one who has submitted), “SaLiM” (whole/complete), “muSaLlaM” (undisputed). But the polemicist who uses these techniques might say that since “musallam” and “salaam” come from the same root, that in Sura x, verse y, musallam really means peace to Muslims – if it furthered his argument. Let me say that most “value systems” have their illogical and/or inconsistent elements, but Islam has a particular problem here since it and thus it’s value system must be inerrant. I can hardly stress this enough: since Islam insists that the Koran is the literal word of a god who is all-knowing, then it can contain no errors of any sort. If an error is found this means that either the god of the koran is a liar since he knows this isn’t the truth, or it means he isn’t all-knowing which also means he is a liar since he says he is all knowing. Thus one error in the Koran causes it to falsify itself and the Muslim deity.

A new book has been published in German and English by author Zahid Khan, titled “The Criminal Acts of Prophet Mohammed.” The author demonstrates that Muhammad, instead of being a true Prophet of God, was misguided by his own evil pursuits and ambitions. His success was not due to the depth of his religious insights, but rather due to animating thousands of idled Arabs by the prospect of spoils and sex-slaves on earth and even more virgins and material pleasures in the hereafter.
When Muhammad died suddenly, thousands of followers tried to escape the clutches of Islam, triggering the bloody Wars of Apostasy (Ridda). But the trap had been closed, and even today it is a capital crime to leave Islam. The only way to open the Islamic trap is to expose the evil nature of Islam for all to see.

13. I called Jews “rats” even though they were descendants of Abraham
14. I, at the end of my life, refused God’s request that I clean up the Quran of all the corrupt laws I had written into it
15. I refused God’s request that I divorce myself from all the women except Aisha
